Rich, complex and moving

I love Warbeck's music. Mrs. Brown[/i] isn't as overtly theatrical as his wonderful score to [i]Shakespeare in Love, but that is appropriate -- the score is for a story set in Victorian Britain, an era and a society that has become a cliché for emotional repression and dourness. But, with a palette of dark and somber colors, Warbeck gives us a rich, complex portrait of unforgettable characters -- and very deep emotions under the surface. Very well done, indeed!
