What does everyone think of this possible movie?

My vote is for Uma Thurman as Samus Aran, especially after seeing her in a big action role like in Kill Bill. _________________ Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win."

I know I'm calling down the thunder with this, but...
Why not Uma Thurman, Cocles? Who do you think would be a good Samus Aran? Anyone but Angelina Jolie? (Ok, not entirely her fault those movies sucked, but hey) |

Uma Thurman has too much of an indie vibe about her that's hard to explain.
In Kill Bill it's Tarantino action, not Cameron action. The latter of which is what I prefer.
I imagine someone similar to Sigorney Weaver in Aliens, but who looks more like Samus in the games. |

Maybe Kate Beckinsale would be up for the job... I didn't see her in Underworld, but she seemed like a plausible action star in the trailer... |

I agree on the weaver reference by Cocles but it should be a younger version.
I love John Woo's action, I especially love "Once a Theif" and "The Big Hit" |

Yes. If this is an origin story, I envision late teens early twenties. |

Sarah Michelle Gellar with black hair again? Like Cruel Intentions? :-)
Jennifer Garner would be cool too |

Samus has been both blonde and brunette. You're pretty safe with hair color. |

Nintendo had a Metroid comic strip that suggests Samus was found as a baby, a lone survivor of a human colony attacked by Space Pirates. Maybe some of the colonists might have brought doves from Earth?
I see your point about Uma having an inde flick feel about her, Cocles. And if it is an origin story, then it would need to be someone younger than Uma anyways. And yeah, hair color doesn't matter at all. _________________ Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win."

I don't won't this flick ruined by a big named actress. Woo needs to inroduce some young hottie who can act the part. I think Alien defined Ripley. She made the movies (especiallly the first 2).
New blood is usually the best. |

The sad thing is, has there yet been a movie based on a video game that has been at least good or great? My opinion is there hasn't. The Mario Bros. movie was to me OK at the most, but everythign else seemed rather blah.
This has the potential to be pretty good though. Hope John Woo works some magic on it. |
