I was listening to the Final Fantasy Piano music, and was reminded of The Snowman. A short animation that always brings back childhood memories. There is one song played through the whole thing, and I believe it is all piano, but from the imdb site, it looked like there was a singer in a re-released version? Anyway, all I know is that the original piano piece called "Walking in the Air" (?) is just beautiful. Tell me what you think. Also, regarding the posting of requests I hope this will suffice.

Also, any "clips" of the above mentioned song that I have come across do not do it any justice. Perhaps someone who knows this amimation can back me up on the quality of this soundtrack.
[edit] Howard Blake is the composer. |

The soundtrack is beautiful, Becky.
However, it is not available anywhere
and for us to have it at SST, we'd
need to be able to purchase a legit
release of it. If you or anyone can
find it, I'd consider buying it for
the site. It is breathtaking. _________________ All in the world recognize the

This is a nice piece of music. The song was sung by Aled Jones and there was a lot of piano on the soundtrack but also a full orchestra. As the animation was without words the visuals relied on the music for the narration and as such I think the music is very lyrical.
I can get this in the UK quite easily, I'll email Jeric and see if he wants me to send it in. |

I had forgotten about this score until you mentioned it Becky. Thanks for requesting it. I saw this short film for the first time with my 4 year old son (at the time) and was enthralled by the music. Couldn't get the song out of my head for days. Nice addition to SST! |
