I have heard of DINC (Double Income No Children) But never what I do referred to as SITCOM, but man does it fit. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

Well, I must admit that we have it easier in France with cheap public creches (even if they are now filled to capacity) and school starting at 3, which leaves a woman free to go back to work and bring back that second income.
I'm curious, do you get tax break if you have children in the US ? Government financial help ? _________________ My reality cheque bounced |

Depends on your income level. We get a tax credit, but no help. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

hmmm.... take care of my kids, v.s... some daycare that i pay for by myself, or by higher taxes.... hmmm... Instill my morals, and values vs. some daycare's....
tough call...
IF/WHEN I ever have a kid, my wife or myself will spend most of our time with the child, even if that means cutting back on work... The kid may go to daycare, like once a week just to get some socialization by playing with kids... but that would be about it. IMHO women who get to stay home are lucky, its a tough job, but it has to be the most rewarding in the long run. |

Exactly Lego. And they have preschools for part time (usually called mom's day out)
I am very lucky, it is very hard, but it is worth it. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

All I have to say, is that men and women were each created for a different purpose. Imagine if this world were filled with either a bunch of men or a bunch of women. That would be a scary place!Men have their ways and we women have our ways. Having both men and women in the world is great, in my opinion. So nothing is really "wrong" with women, or men for that matter. _________________ "All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you." - Gandalf the Grey |

I watched a little 60 minutes last night... about these women who are a the top of their trade. such as buisness school of harvard. law school yale grads... huge money making women in power, who gave up their jobs to raise their kids... to be a stay at home mom...
this says many things... but one thing I will throw out just to piss off some women here... It shows that women do not know what they want. the minute they get something, they don't want it anymore... |

Or Lego, it could say that they chose to have a career first that would enable them to stay at home more comfortably once they had kids. But you are right most women are like that. However, when i make up my mind about something that's it. I don't change it.
