OK, unless I get any complaints/alternatives in the next day or so from anybody, here's what I'll turn over to the planning committee:
A lunchtime(ish) meal in the area of Fredricksburg, VA on Saturday, January 22nd.
Post or PM your responses please.

OK, so the committee already came back with some suggestions.
Our thought was to go somewhat generic on the place to eat. The idea was that everybody could find something to eat, and that it was more about the people than the food anyway.
The list of options we have so far are:
Applebee's
Ruby Tuesdays
Fuddruckers
I'm sure there are more places like this in the area if someone has an opinion on the matter.
My vote is Fuddruckers, but that's just a personal preference.

I'll make it. And how about a picnic instead? _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

We could try for a picnic if there's enough support. My thoughts are:
We can't control the weather, but we could just have a backup plan in place.
Would those (potentially) travelling be able to
bring picnic stuff without diffuculty?
Now we've added to the burden of planning some,
what with having to coordinate who brings what.
Lazy folks like me have to go through the effort
to prepare our dishes.
What if nobody likes my halibut surprise? I don't want anybody to go hungry.
Let the discussions commence.

(I wonder if there's a market for "indoor picnic facilities"? Hmm.) |

Does silver know something we don't? Her first post is to warn us about poisoned food.
If Obi wants to bring prakas to the picnic that's fine. I'm sure they'll taste good. Oh, wait...
Additional thoughts on a picnic: Do an indoor event now, and if it turns out that we all get along and have a good time maybe we can plan an outdoor event during the summer. Maybe we can get more turnout then too.
