That's great news, Mrs. Zgurl49. I hope it's the first of many happy anniversaries for you!

Thought I'd revive this thread with the following:
My daughter (7) came across the score for Gladiator while visiting my dad, and loved it. Since then I bought her her own copy ($0.99 used!) and have introduced her to Pirates of the Caribbean (since it's similar), then proceeded to The Fellowship of The Ring, and yesterday on to Star Wars: A New Hope. She's loved them all. Another successful soundtrack evangelism!

Well, my daughter (5) can recognize lots of Hisaishi tunes and I introduce her now to music for Pixar. I call that "education", my wife calls that "brain manipulation" _________________ There is no problem that can't be solve without any solution |

Well, the Inqueling and I made my Halloween wish come true, going out as Hippolyta and Diana. She wore my vintage 1978 Wonder Woman t-shirt. Hard to believe I was once that small. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

It's been awhile since this thread has been touched but I've had some exciting news recently with work.
My mom finally bought the travel agency that she's worked at since 1993 - a long time coming! It's now officially a family business with just me and her working together
As a result, today I was given a raise and full insurance benefits! Woot!
Also, my husband Zack has been promoted from service writer to a full Mac technician at the Computer Store in town.
May not be HUGE news but it's very exciting for both of us! With the oil boom in ND here the cost of living is ridiculous right now so promotions and a raise are going to help so much. _________________ Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die tomorrow. - James Dean |

Time to revive this old thread.
I've been selectionned in a contest for composing music for a short movie (8 minutes).
Now, all I have to do is compose, find the performers, train with them and play my music live on screen.
For those interested, you can come on the 18th of November in Sceaux.
I'm at the same time very entusiatic and totally scared. _________________ There is no problem that can't be solve without any solution |

wow, this all sounds to me like an awesome chapter in your life.
I know you know that I would be there in your
lovely country if I could. I'd even audition as one of the performers.
Wishing you the best of luck in your endeavor...I know you're scared but
think of Phil Liggett (a tdf commentator) who tells of "reaching into your
suitcase of courage" to pull off the unthinkable. GO for it, platy! _________________ "I like what I hear as a resulting combination of these two strands... something of a combination of familiarity and, for lack of a better word, strangeness." -Alex North |

PC Gamer magazine printed my letter to the editor in this month's issue! And it's one of the full letters in the middle of the page, not the little snippets they use to decorate the margin! _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?
