|
good mornin'
aehem, had anyone noticed that the balance time of the actual playing track counts wrong? if a new track begins to play the counter shows (0:26) and when (0:00) is reached it jumps back to (0:26). sometimes it shows other crazy times, sometimes it's working nomral ... |

I've noticed it as well. Right now the "Edward Scissorhands - The Grand Finale" started playing and the counter always starts on 1:11 even though it should be 3:26.
The other problem I've also noted with that frame is that after about 10-20 minutes it gets a mySql error and never refreshes again. _________________ "Anything one man can imagine,

Fixed - The clock on the SAM machine slowed down. Thanks. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

I'm sorry to say, but the timer is still way of. It finishes before the song is finished and when the next song starts the timer is way less than the total length of the track (as listed in the queue). _________________ "Anything one man can imagine,

It turns out to be about a 25-30 sec., delay on my end anyways, before the actualy song plays. I think we could live with that. _________________ "Get it?...Got it!...GOOD!" -- The Court Jester |

Could it possibly be the differences in bandwidth that people are seeing the different times? |

Possibly. I'm not sure about that so I couldn't tell you for sure. Like I mentioned, I don't think it's that big of a concern if you really think about it. _________________ "Get it?...Got it!...GOOD!" -- The Court Jester |

It is the time difference between the stream server and the website server.
If I remember correctly, otherwise JERIC can correct me on that one. :-) |

There are many factors that play in here. Here are the main ones:
1. The stream source and web server are on different machines, let alone different time zones.
2. Lag is inherent to all streaming technology. Your audio player has a buffer to fill in order to hear the music. The larger the stream (kbps), the more buffer it fills up and the less lag there is. However there is less room for underruns. That is why the 32k is further behind the 64k.
The site and the stream cannot get any more synchronized than it is based on today's technology. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

To reinforce my previous statement, does it really matter? This time-counter gives a general timeline, (emphasis on general) so that you know approximately when the next track is supposed to kick in. Thanks JERIC for this wonderful feature. Before you implemented it, I was wondering if it was possible. Works great! _________________ "Get it?...Got it!...GOOD!" -- The Court Jester |
