|
mrtuffstuff came up with the idea (link) that our very own Jeric could also be interviewed as part of the 5th anniversary celebrations.
I contacted his agency, and they were excited about the idea.
Jeric, as you all know, is the guy behind such breakthrough internet radio stations as Death.FM and StreamingSoundtracks.com which has become the number one soundtrack radio station in the world.
So please post your questions for Jeric here, and if there is enough interest, we’ll go forward with the interview. _________________ "Anything one man can imagine,

LOL! It would be a travesty if we couldn't come up with enough questions to go forward with the interview.
What got you into collecting soundtracks?
Do you have any type of musical training?
What qualities do you admire about the soundtrack and death metal genres? In your opinion, what makes a score great?
About how much time do you spend on improving SST each week?
What's your favorite aspect of SST?

Some thoughts to get you started:
What are your thoughts on the Journal on Educational Resources in Computing?
Should the listeners "take care of" this guy? (It's a myspace link...consider yourself warned.)
Two words: "helmet" and "chafing"

Hmm, what a nice thing to do chandler.. .
My question would be... umm . I always wanted to know if Mr JERIC has a hornhat?
Or if he ever tried one on?
Please ask him that from me
Well its a very not urgent question as u all understand

Give the people what they want, JERIC!
Just wait, the questions are just going to keep pouring in, like this one:
"Has SST ever kept you away from something important that you were supposed to be doing, and how did that work out?"

Do you use "I'm the founder of SST" as a pick-up line? If so, what were the results?
Is SST costing you any money or do the donations / gifts cover all the costs?
Can you name some of your favourite soundtracks?
Do you secretly request all the the System/admin track in the queue, or is that really random?
Are you into any music other than that available at SST or death.fm? If so, can you name some genres / bands?

Thank you Chandler. It seems obvious that people care about knowing a lot more about JERIC than about BT...
Yes. More questions:
Is there one musical instrument that sounds so horrendous, you'd rather not hear it ever again?
When do you think that the CD as a mainstream form of media, will die altogether? _________________ When all else fails, consider time travel.

How many members do you think SST will have in one year?
If you wouldn't have created SST (which in your infinite wisdom you did), what would you be doing in your spare time right now (instead of maintaining and expanding SST)? _________________ The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on Flying: The knack of throwing yourself at the ground and miss.

How did you come up with the idea for SST?
And how long did it take for the idea to morph into the actual website with music, members and erhh..another thing with m...erh..melody? _________________ Our umbrellas are colliding and I can't walk straightly.

JERIC, what criteria do you use to decide what gets added to the playlist, and what doesn't?
*note; this question is probably more important to others than it is to me, but it is a subject I have seen discussed numerous times in chat. It might be good, just to have a definitive answer somewhere on the site to put the subject to rest. But, whatever you think Bro.

Hey everyone. Chandler asked me to repost my questions under this thread. I'm excited about the response. Thanks everyone.
How many STs did the site start up with 5 years ago and were they just from your own personal collection?
Did you ever predict that SST would be this successful?
What do you do for a living when you're not maintaining the site and its playlist?
What kind of setup do you have to integrate all of the STs to the digital library?
Who wrote the sweepers we currently use?
What do you envision for the future of SST?
Questions like these beg to be answered. |
