I just had to request this one. We were talking about this before here.
I know how expensive it is, but i just HAD TO request it !
Maybe there will be a special offer or/and some people who are donating for it. (Like for this one) It's really great music, not only for Germans who will know it from their childhood
I can't find samples from this CDs, but some others with the same music on it:
Die schönsten Karl May Filmmelodien
Karl May-Melodien
Karl May-Filmhits
Original Karl May Filmmelodien Vol. 2
Original Karl May Filmmelodien
Winnetou-Melodien
old-Shatterhand-Melodie

I loved the Karl-May-Books and also the movies and the music really is great!
I hope we'll find some sponsors.... _________________ It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.

That's a humongous album set. And pricey too. I'm just wondering if there might be a cheaper alternative. Perhaps get a few scores or compilations. How are these--
Many more cheap albums here- http://tinyurl.com/sstbott3 |

I'd go along with BP's suggestion! We can find some other nice and much cheaper Karl May film music collections.
Ahh, ok, I'll donate one Karl May film music album to SST (maybe the one on the left above, "Das Beste aus den..."), so we'll get somewhere here.
Give me a bit of time to take a look at which one has the best price/quality ratio, to contact JERIC etc.
There's also a 3-disc box set "Die schönsten Karl-May-Filmmelodien" with a reasonable price at amazon.de, so may be I'll get that one. |

I don't agree about that because like vic says

I think many people buy those single CDs, but almost nobody would buy such a collection for themselves. That's why i think it fits so well to SST, because it's so expensive and here not only one person has to pay for it, but many people can participate and they are all able to hear the music at the end. Nobody just spends that much money on CDs, but here we could buy and listen to it together |

Hmm... Ok, the price on amazon.de is about 140 euros. Can you get at least 14 people to pitch in 10 euros each which is about USD 15.1 at the current exchange rate? (Wow, euro is waayyy too strong now.) Or 28 people to donate 5 euros each (USD 7.55)? Good luck!
I think the 8 disc box would probably be a nice addition but...
I volunteered to donate the 3 disc box set instead. It obviously does not contain everything but would be at least something from composer Martin Böttcher in the SST playlist.
So what do you people think? |

If JERIC wants it, just let us know who will donate some money for the 8 disc version. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Oh, C'mon, it's not like that this would be the first CD Box !
I remember requesting this from the NUT list http://www.streamingsoundtracks.com/modules.php?name=Album&asin=B000F9UDBW
It's a 5 disk box and not really cheap either. And nobody donated it. It's not even really popular (no track was requested really often)
Of course it would be great if we find as much people as possible for donating money ! And i would try to get some money for donating too.. |
