This year is the 6th annual John Williams Concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Yes it's only January but tickets go on sale Monday and want to give you a heads up.

Tickets have been ordered!

What's great about this year is that it's a holiday weekend again!! It hasn't been scheduled like that for 2-3 years now. It's a chance to get more people interested in coming if their vacation is a bit longer.

On top of that, on Sunday the 2nd, David Newman conducts The Big Picture. This year's theme is 100th Anniversary of Paramount so he'll play Godfather, Wings, Mission Impossible, Titanic and more. I already booked group tickets for 10 so if you think I'll need more. Please let me know.

Saturday, September 1st
Section K2 - Rows 3-6
Tickets are $42 plus the possibility of upgrading to better seats (between $5-$15 if everyone agrees to it) and the picnic area (an extra $2 each).

Updated 2/28
Sunday, September 2nd
Section K2 (We were in F1, see below)

UPDATE
I moved our tickets on Sunday the 2nd from F1 to K2 because we were in row 16 but there were no seats available near them so we wouldn't be together. I moved us to the other section so we'd be closer as well and we can all sit together. We now have 20 tickets total for Sunday. Final payment will be needed by May. I'll start collecting in the coming weeks.

UPDATE 5/04
All Best Western rooms have been canceled. We didn't get to 10. Everyone is on their own.

Just added the 3 concerts (2 time JW and 1 time Newman) on the moviesinconcert page. Although I really like to be there again, I need to find a way to finance this with in mind the other gatherings as well. As soon as I decided to come (or not) I will let you know

After a few days thinking about it, the chance that I will go is growing and growing, so for now I want to make a reservation for a ticket for the JW concert and the Big Pictures concert.

I have enough vacation days left beside the other planned gatherings. Financially I think it also will work out.

OK I have decided to go. Still need to do some planning, but if nothing grazy happens I will be there. I will be in town before friday, because I think there will be an open rehearsal on friday morning again. Six weeks before the event I can contact the Bowl organization to ask if there is an open rehearsal. Maybe there will be some MainTitles.Net members there too

So socr8s, PM the price of the tickets (saterday and sunday) and I will pay you with paypal

Lies your picture cracked me up! I so want to go, but I hate the idea of paying for airfare so far in advance. But I know it will only get more expensive the longer I wait...I gotta live while I can, right?! *promises to make a decision by the end of next week*

I will echo Istagi's sentiments. I'm trying to make plans and it would be easier and more cost-effective to know what the hotel arrangements are. Thanks!

Last year we stayed at the Confort Inn, it is walking distance to the Bowl. I see for some reason it is not possible to make reservations there anymore (maybe closed) on the other side of the Road there is the Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn. I stayed there the other 3 times I visited JW. Although there are maybe some cheaper hotels in the area I will choose this hotel again

Siri, thanks for sharing, that hotel is reasonable!!

So right now I am 99% in! I'm just gonna PM socr8s to make sure there are still tickets left.

Istagi great! Viola, I know it's costly and because it's a holiday weekend, that drives prices up too but people won't have to take as many days off from work (depending how long they stay). Of course there are plenty of tickets left!

Awesome picture Lies!

The last time we got a lot of people, they stayed at Magic Castle which is a bit of a walk from the bowl. I don't think it was much more than the Best Western but might want to look into it.

Also, I only set aside 10 tickets for David Newman so if you're coming for the whole weekend and were interested in going to that, let me know AESOP.

Best Western can give us a group discount if we book 10 rooms. You'd be looking at $139 a night. From this group now, it looks like 4 rooms.

The most awesome festival I am always am attending ends august 26th... I have not seen John Williams and maybe never will. And lastly I still have no holiday planned yet.

I think I should go.. I have to talk here and there but you can put me at the 'interested' spot.
