On Her Majesty's Secret Service - John Barry
Track List:
05. "Do You Know How Christmas Trees Are Grown?" – sung by Nina
Samples:
Do You Know How Christmas Trees Are Grown? - T...
the track is missing on the score of On Her Majesty's Secret Service ... I admit it is a bit sappy, but I like it nonetheless. Soon Christmas is here and I think it would be very fitting |

Sounds to me really like Mary Poppins' song.

it seems like every other Bond soundtrack here has it's start/end song track...so it's only fair that Secret Service also gets the treatment. _________________ "Listen, Centauri. I'm not any of those guys, I'm a kid from a trailer park."

Thumbs up on 007.
OHMSS is also, I believe, the ONLY Bond film to not have its theme song in the db.
(Louis Armstrong's "We Have All the Time in the World") I'd like to see that track added back as well. _________________ "A day without music is a mistake." – John Williams |

I agree. Not having "We Have All the Time in the World" song, is a major gap in the SST playlist in my opinion.
Not only was the last song recorded by Louis Armstrong before his death, but more importantly, is that John Barry was directly involved in the composition of the song. And not forgetting the fact that the melody is instrumentally played many times throughout the score, in the tradition of other Bond songs.
As for Nina's "Do You Know How Christmas Trees Are Grown?", it should be added in the playlist too. And like "We Have All the Time in the World", John Barry was also involved in the creation of the song.
OK maybe it's not near as good as the Armstrong song, but like that one the theme of the song is also integrated by Barry on the score. Please check Track 19 (Blofeld's Plot) starting at 0:54 to 1:!7, for an instrumental rendition of the song theme. And also Track 16 (Sir Hillary's Night Out) at 4:20, where you can hear the first notes of the song being played.
I mean if "Another Way To Die" or "Die Another Day" are in the SST playlist of Quantum Of Solace and Die Another Day respectively, wherein none of them are integrated to the rest of the score, nor David Arnold was directly involved in the creation of those songs, then why "Do You Know How Christmas Trees Are Grown?" and "We Have All the Time in the World" are not in the playlist of On Her Majesty's Secret Service?

More than that, I would point out that if we can have something like "An Instrument Called Wind" from Dewy or "The Greatest Most Beautifullest Love Song in All the Land" from Your Highness, then I really cannot see what objection anybody could possibly have to Christmas trees & Louis Armstrong!
And to amend my earlier comment on a technicality, as was pointed out to me after making another 007-related post (here: http://www.streamingsoundtracks.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=7229) ... actually there *is* one other Bond theme song missing from the db – Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" from Casino Royale – but oddly the song was not released with the soundtrack, so for that reason it isn't in the db.
However, in the case of these two tracks from OHMSS, they certainly were released with the ST, so I vote yes on seeing them restored. |

Updating: okay, make that 3 missing Bond themes, as the new Skyfall score release neglected to include the Adele track. Two of those are from the most recent films in the series; however, OHMSS is still the only classic 007 whose theme is not in the catalog.
(Btw, for those interested someone started a separate request thread for the Adele single here:
