Across the Universe is an amazing movie, if you love the Beatles you have to see the film. Although the film used over 30 Beatles songs, there was some additional score music in it and Elliot was given the task to work around the Beatles and compose music that fit with the film. Here is a short video on how he managed to add to the Beatles since there is no improving on the Beatles songs Wink

An earlier interview with Elliot focusing on his recent score at the time, Titus. He talks a little about earlier work as well but mainly focuses on what it took to adapt the famous Shakespeare play.

Titus Interview

A 2002 Interview this time focusing on his recent score, Frida. Another interesting look at how he scored another interesting film.

Goldenthal's score for his wife's film version of The Tempest is now streaming online here:

I have no guarantee it will work outside the US.

I am interested to see how it compares to Titus, the last film to combine Taymor, Goldenthal and Shakespeare.

I was honored to do an interview with Elliot Goldenthal during the FMF in Krakow! It was nerve-wracking, but it was a very pleasant conversation!
