Jeff, I don't know if the "pop" songs are original or not.... but they do remind me of the movie.... which is what a good soundtrack does, for me !!

I voted yes but let me clarify - I don't care for much pop music on this station - the only reason i said yes is because it would be fun to have a couple of the pieces to represent the work day environment and to quote from a very appropo movie however, unless there is more incidental music, only a couple of pieces would be necessary to represent this important film

As much as I loved this movie, I really don't think that the pop songs are appropriate for this site. If they can add things like this, then they could add Aerosmith's Don't wanna miss a thing on the Armageddon soundtrack.

As far as original to the movie, I don't think that's so important. If a song or piece of music can easily be identified with a movie, then I would consider it a valid rememberance of the movie, worthy of a SST listing. And as the name implies, soundtracks can include songs, orchestral works, etc, while score would imply something other than vocal songs...
"The Blue Danube" is not "original" to 2001:A Space Odyssey or to Heaven's Gate, yet it's considered worthy to be represented here on SST.
