Neo, if you don't mind, here's a quick one
This french actor played in more than 70 movies in leading or supporting roles. His choices in movies are very eclectic. He played in some american movies.
He was nominated 6 times at the César but never won any.

Ok, next question for the group:
 This actress was born Mary, but you wouldn't know her by that name now. She was trained as a dancer, and studied at the School of American Ballet in NYC. While a successful actress, she has had her problems, having been replaced on at least three major projects by other actresses. (personality issues and injuries).

Oops! It was my turn! 
My career really started after a movie (comedy) in which I had the leading role and I had to gain weight for playing the character.

The movie in question was made in this century. The filming locations for this movie are in Germany, Morocco and Finland. Danny Boyle was developing the story with one of the screenwriters but then stepped out of the project. The actress playing the main character was once nominated for an academy award (not for this movie!).
