Zelda Reorchestrated (many albums) - ZREO
Official: Zelda Reorchestrated
Samples:
Playlist | Zelda Reorchestrated
Buy at Playlist | Zelda Reorchestrated
For those that enjoy the music from the Legend of Zelda games you should check out Zelda Reorchestrated, a group dedicated to reproducing the music from the Zelda games. They have hundreds of tracks already recorded and are working on more. The best part? They're available for free on their website (but be sure do donate if you'd like to support them). We currently have four Zelda albums here at SST, and I'm not advocating that we replace them, but this would allow us to include almost the complete series at no cost. |

Interesting find, J2. I'm not necessarily a fan of Zelda, so I'm kind of indifferent, to be honest. If the music was all done by a live orchestra, it would be one thing, but these are basically somewhat better virtual instrument performances than the original midi recordings. I would be in favor of retaining the best quality tracks for the Zelda series, whichever the source.

Did you listen to the more recent stuff? The quality gets better and as they have more resources they incorporated live performances. You can see clips from the chorus for their upcoming release on their homepage:

Electronic music, yes, but I'd say it's more than "somewhat better" than the original.
It's also possible that they won't let us use the music as we're a commercial entity, but if folks don't want it there's no need to bother asking.
Thanks for checking it out and for the feedback.
