We have the opportunity the have an exclusive interview with Bartosz Chajdecki.

And you can ask one or more questions.

You can post your question(s) here in this thread until July 31st 2013. After that day I will gather the questions and hand them over to Bartosz.

Several prizes will be given away to the members who posted the questions.

From all the questions Bartosz will pick the most original, the funniest and most interesting question.

Two of the prizes will be one of the yet to be released albums (2 new projects Bartosz is currently working on) signed by Bartosz Chajdecki.

The third prize a SST T-Shirt from the SSTore

So post your questions here, btw when a question is already posted earlier by another member, that question will go to final questionlist.

SiriusCreations can post questions as well but is excluded from the prizes.

Albums here on SST by Bartosz Chajdecki.

Bartosz Chajdecki is not very well known in France, so I would have lots of questions about who he is, how and why has he become a composer, what was his first soundtrack and does it find difficulties to get his work published.

After that, I'll ask if he would like to compose for other countries? And if he get the opportunity to compose the movie he want, what would it be?

Does he know how to play an instrument? Which one? Does he prefer intimist other more orchestral work?

And, last (for today) : what instrument would he choose to personify the platypus?

Thank you for making a contest like this one!
I really do like Bartosz and his music very much!
I want to thank him for his beautiful creations first.

Did he ever compose music for a children's movie yet?
Are there some kind of movies he does not want to compose for?

please send him my kind regards during the interview.

Thanks Siri for yet another great contest!! Very Happy

Here is my question:
Being a composer of film music I would like to know if it is possible for Bartosz Chajdecki, when watching other movies, to just enjoy the story and everything or if he is always focused on the score and compares it to how he might would have done it.

use in his compositions?

Here are some questions I put together. They probably would sound better in Polish Wink

- How does growing popularity of electronic tools and digital ways of recording and storing music influence the way composers work? Do you like to work with digital machines and over the internet or do you prefer the old school way of working - with pencil and paper?

- What are the chances that we see more music from "Czas Honoru" being released?

- What instrument, besides the double bass, can you play? (edit: now I see masked suggested similar question)

- When you look for something about you on the internet, usually you get more or less detailed info that Zbigniew Preisner influenced your early stages career. Is that connection still alive? Can you imagine a score composed by you together with Zbigniew Preisner?

- SST will be again in Kraków this year to attend 6th edition of FMF. Can you lift a curtain a bit for us on your cooperation with FMF this year?

- Do you like mathematics? Do you use it to compose your music?

- Do you think that the number of melodies a man is able to compose is limited or do you rather think the possibilities are endless?

- What is your favourite key on a piano keyboard, if you have any?

- What are the occupational hazards of score composers?

- A place in the world you would like to visit?

- Do you remember any unusual way of sound producing you used in your compositions? Any unusual instruments?

- Can we hear you performing on any score you composed?

- What was the happiest moment of your career up to date?

- In the big world of film and film music industry who usually is the most valuable, the most vital coworker for a composer? Whose cooperation is essential for a composer to deliver a good score?

- Is there any instrument which sound is honestly unbearable for you?

- Do you have any favourite orchestra?

- Do you compose anything for a stage (theatres) nowadays?

- If you had a magic wand (or a magic pencil just like in one of Polish cartoons), what kind of thing would you create with that wand (or pencil) to make your work easier? Or putting this question in other words, what is the most annoying part of composer's work?

Plus some questions inspired by Tonks:

- What was your favourite music when you were a teenager?

- How do you find an inspiration and ideas for your works?

- What is your favourite workplace?

- Your favourite composer? Guru maybe?

- Could you tell us what are you working on now?

- If you had a chance to decide again would you still choose to become a composer? Are there any other professions you find interesting?

- Is music a way of relaxation for you or did it become just your profession and work?

- What is your idea, your way of dealing with popularity?

More questions from me:

What do you think of the temptrack? Is it a difficulty for you to compose?

More and more soundtracks are recorded with the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Have you ever work with them? Which orchestra would you love to hear playing your music?

Do you conduct yourself the orchestra or do you work with a conductor?

More Questions:

What divides polish scores from for instance american scores? What does the polish audience and the movie directors appreciate particularly compared to for example to the SST audience?

When will we be able to buy the beautiful tracks collected in your special SST collection?

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Since funny questions are allowed too:

What is your breakfast of Champions? Smile

Referring to a funny movie (Hot Fuzz): What's your perfect sunday?

Two more questions:

- Do you still like cucumbers? Do you have any special recipe for preparing them?
- If you were to compose the cucumber theme what instrument would it be for? (edit: errr... That was not on purpose but again this question is similar to masked's one. So maybe we can skip it.)

The first thing when I met Bartosz in Cracow he apologized he had not answered all the questions yet. He was/is very busy at the moment scoring new music and being the music director of Małopolski Ogród Sztuki (The Małopolska Garden of Arts).
When he finished the questions he will send them to us. Also he will sign the two yet to be released albums as well (at this moment planned to be released this or next month).
