I'm now wondering (and concerned) how passwords are stored in the database? In todays standards, you should not be able to tell that two passwords are the same.

To be clear

Passwords are stored encrypted in the database, admins and mods can only see if passwords are the same, not what the passwords are.

If you can see if two passwords are the same based on the hash (the encrypted password) in the database, you may want to update your password security system:
