Is the November meeting in Cardiff happening in the end? It would be a nice chance for us to catch up with other SSTers and see the DW experience and the city. |
Yes Xalira, the UK event is still due to happen.Including a meet & greet with UK composers. But the only thing not working well is the contact with
the organisors of the Festival. Also the fact that we still haven't got a fully operational European office is cause of that.
Even if the complete program can't be worked out entirely, we still can have a meeting of UK members and other interested people.
I will go there, no matter what, cause I have business to do there as well.
As soon as more details on a program are clear, I will post it and a separate event will be created. _________________

I'm interested in going there too (if my work duties allow me to). _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

If I can combine it with other concerts I am going to in November I will be there too. But still no programme announced that will be done in October.
Strange though that they still have not announced dates. It is an International Film and Music Festival why so late to announce at least the dates???
People need to plan trips if they want to have international visitors... _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Last message I got is that the organisation that did it previous years has withdrawn due to budget issues.
Hence my not receiving answers to e-mails.
I am in talks now with Edel Records to have a meet & greet with 2 or 3 composers regardless of the Festival.
If that works out, we can have our own meeting and visit to the Dr.Who experience.
A representative will be in Krakow for that and also Trevor Morris is there whom I was planning to invite as well. _________________

Great, thanks! The weather will be probably miserable but I'd love to make this work, regardless of the festival. If you need any help in organising this (are you in contact with other UK members or am I the only active one in the forum etc?) |

The Soundtrack International Film And Music in Cardiff, UK has been cancelled as a result of the Film Agency for Wales’ decision to withdraw its core funding of the event, which it has funded since its inception in 2008.

Yeah, I just got an email with the same message from Marcus Lawry, project manager at the Orchard Media and Event group.
it's a pity, but maybe we can postpone it and combine it with the concerts that are due in 2014.
I'll check that after Vienna _________________

Just read this. Such a pity. But it's hard times here in the UK as well for festivals.
I think we'll organise our own visit to the Experience this year anyway and go a second time when you fix a 2014 date |

In the beginning of May 2014 in Luzern (Switzerland) there will be a chance to see Gladiator on big screen with music being played live (conducted by Maestro L. Wicki).
Liza Gerrard will perform too.
Does anyone besides me think that a little SST get together around this even wouldn't be a bad idea? _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

This would be nice, I still need to look into my plans for next year. It would be great to meet Ludwig and Lisa again.
And the venue KKL in Luzern is a great concert hall. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

WSA probably in Ghent at the end of October. If the program is right some of us are there.
And I know that there are two Morricone concerts in June in Ghent as well. |

Hi bondgirl!
You can also keep an eye on things happening in Belgium on this website: http://www.moviesinconcert.nl/index.php?page=concertlist
At the moment there are 12 concerts in Belgium in 2016 on that list.
BTW: moviesinconcert.nl website has been built and run - among others - by our friend and SST member - Filmflip. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,
