It's half understandable when people
get the idea to visit you for a weekend
with the situation and all but to do it
without checking in, first and it being
a week away?
Advice for the heart:
If you want to do something for a loved
one, ask them what it is that they need.
That is a good place to start. Do not
think that you can know this before
asking.
Anyway, still waiting for pathology. It
is a much tougher recovery. Stitches
are tight. Medication is heavy. I hate
all of it. I can't stand it.

Pathology is back and the
news is good. All margins
are negative.
It was a success. I suppose
that all this pain is worth it.
I am uncomfortable, right now
but wanted to share this
important development.
I have been blessed and in

That is good news, now you can continue your recovery. I know exactly what you are going through with all of the meds, pain, and other things. Just hang in there, we are sending prayers and good thoughts your way. |

I'm so glad that you got that great news, dear Pete  And it's fine when you are not the positive one and brave one all the time. When you have a time not feeling well, be the whiny one, you have all right to do that *hugs*
And I agree with your opinion about that weekend-visit. It's great when they want to be there for you in this tough times, but they still should ask if you need and also want it. |

pete, what a relief. it's great to read good news from you in the morning. i'm glad that you stay positive through these tough times. keep up the smile under your moustache. and don't hesitate to ask us anything, we'll do for you everything we can, even from afar. but don't hesitate to tell the people to leave you alone, neither. as vic says, you have all the right to feel bad and tired now.
i'm sending you lots of good thoughts, even more hugs and a cargo container of cookies with a tanker full of hot chocolate. hope it will help you get through the recovery

Oh Petey!! I'm sorry to know you're in pain but I am so happy that pathology report was good! Now it's time for you to just relax and get better. My thoughts, prayers and love are being sent to you and your family.
And don't do like I did and try to "be strong" and suffer with the pain. Take the meds! That's what you have them for!

Hey Pete,
I'm sorry to say, I just read the info on the forum about you. As you know I (we) am "handling" the same disease with my wife. You gave me,and my wife, lots of good wishes. It's no excuse, but i had no 'ear' for anybody others problems...... 
So i completely missed your fight against cancer.....sorry.
Stil, i'm very grateful for you support and want to sent some back.

Last night was the worst.
There was no sleep and
no horizon. All I could do
was hold onto the bedpost
and weep. It felt like a
furnace monster had its
mouthful of me. Before I
knew it, they were all awake
and holding me. The children
are not used to seeing their
father weeping in pain.
In contrast, however, today:
I feel better than I have since
the first operation. I am too
familiar with the saying:
"It's always darkest before dawn."
Let it be so.
