I discover quite a lot of good music that I find suiting to be called Soundttrack of the Month (the actual ongoing month) but they are mostly not on SST.
Maybe, if there's interest, I can pick up the voids Cal leaves to add a soundtrack of that month that is to be discovered/to be looked out for.
Then, others can check it out and maybe it even reaches our requested soundtracks list. _________________

Although I'm wondering if that should mean I need to pick releases from the previous month or the ongoing month. That would mean that later releases that month would not be eligible.
But for January 2015 I maybe start off with this:
SOUNDTRACK OF THE MONTH:JANUARY 2015
Released 09/01/2015
The new score from Pascal Gaigne for another cooperation with Finnish director Rex Rinnekangas (Matka Enediin)
Theo’s House is a film about the power and the beauty of architecture and about a middle-age Nordic architec who, after loosing all in this life, wants once again to be a real architect and begins to create a Dream House for rest of the life, but not only for himself but also for a German woman whom he has met only once in his life, 50 years ago in their childhood.
The composer provides a surprising and emotional score conceived for piano and cello, including four jazz-based songs composed by Gaigne and performed by Ainara Ortega. source: Quartet Records _________________

Starting with the next month I will also include a re-release of the month as there is a large offer and ongoing trend to reissue archival recordings. _________________

Maybe this would get better notice if it was where the feature used to be? In the features tab there is a section to go to Soundtrack of the Month page. If you could post there i think that would get better notice as it wont get lost in the forums? Just a thought. Then that page wont be out of date and look as if we dont care about our pages but good to bring it back up i think, i liked the feature when it was around. _________________ The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties. A good idea Jaded if it wasn't for two minor mishaps:
- you need to have admin powers to submit a soundtrack there.
- it would not work as link as supposed as most of the good scores I'd like to point out to are not on SST.
But maybe you can make it a sticky topic in the Soundtrack forum instead of General forum.
moved the thread to Soundtracks forum - mol. _________________

Oi, stop hijacking my soundtrack of the month without my consent
The soundtracks I chose for Soundtrack of the Month are not picked by me. They are picked by the community using the resources SST provides to me. The community is the most important part of SST to me. Making the SotM awesome for SST.
Looks like what Dutchbat wants to use it for is more for promotional use.
The "sleep" was because of the crash last year that lost some data and the community resources were not available every month. Looking at the data I can do a SotM now from last july to now if people are interested in it. |

I'm interested. Cal.
And maybe Dutch could have his own corner (thread) of brilliant scores... That would be interesting too. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Because of the fact that the host for this monthly topic had left it void for so long I think my proposal was more in the benefit of SST than leaving it almost unattended since March 2014.
From that point of view I think it rather pathetic to accuse a fellow crew member from hijacking or promotional intentions.
Which, when you read my first proposal properly, were not the issue nor am I getting paid for promoting the soundtrack at stake, but I highlighted a recent release from the previous month on basis of quality.
Latter only for SST members to take benefit from.
Of course if we would have the chosen SotM in our database I wouldn't need the forum, for I could write a review.
Since that is often not the case for the better soundtracks I'll reconsider to put a release review in a new topic so Cal can have his toy back or maybe even drop the idea all together.
If the SotM is picked up by Cal again, maybe some transparency on how it's picked might be more indicative to not being a random pick album as it's looks like to be now. _________________
