Yesterday I went to the GP service with palpitations and severe hyperventilaties. Yesterday I was in the VU (University Hospital) in Amsterdam for a scan. There was reason to believe for a suspected deep vein thrombosis in my left leg.
Fortunately, that was not it, but there are in my left leg annoying and weird spider veins and varicose veins and must be removed. The blood can be difficult flow back to the heart so that the chambers of the heart less filled with blood and creates palpitations and hard constrictions of the heart.
The result is that more adrenaline is released into the blood and making you a feeling if you are in a roller coaster and get more veins contraction. You will be light and floaty and even dizzy in your head because of that less blood is getting pumped into the brains.
Hyperventilation is not dangerous, but very annoying. Spider veins or varicose veins are caused by a lot of standing work.

Next Monday (24 FEB 2014) i have to go to my own GP doctor. To be transferred to a specialist who can remove the varicose veins. How long the process will take, I do not know yet.
But I can assure you it was not a pleasant experience. It seemed as if I was really dying!!

Sorry to read about this Scorefreak!  I can well imagine your fear but keep faith that your physicians & other medical personnel will help this issue & you will be feeling much better soon. Good luck with the surgery & keep us posted on your progress too. |

SF - Sheesh! It was the
Doppler Ultrasound that
signaled everything for
me. It is usually used to
look for DVT.

Last month i had hyperventilations and palpitations again. Very frightening!
Undergo blood tests and found that I have hyperthyroidism (thyroid problem) and have type 2 diabetes. Also with mild liver dysfunction (steastose). About 2 weeks to go to the internist and dermatologist or phlebologist for my varicose veins.
I'll keep you posted!

I had hyperthyroidism several years ago so I know what you are going through, Scorefreak. I am so sorry to hear the news that you now have it too but you are under such wonderful care. I hope you will make a speedy recovery from this situation with the full support from the folks at SST. |

Score, I think now they, and you, know what really the problems is, things can get better. The treatment will be better focused on the real issues. Still, you have a hard time now and i wish you all the luck an good health. Keep it up.

I went to an internist at the hospital today, and there is a diagnose: Graves disease! Hyperthyroidism. Life's a bitch!

I got new medications of the internist called Cabrimazol and everything is just fine. Next month i have to go to the internist again for a check-up.

I learned that I was diabetic at 32. One think I realized for the past 20 years living with this disease is that nothing happened in life that you can't deal with.
