Been thinking of you and Terry freezing in Chicago.
Stay inside when you can until that wind chill factor somewhere near freezing or above.

The cold is really something.
The dog has not done well with
its and it has turned into a real
standoff but I am as determined
as he has been stubborn.
The good news is that my son
is back and his surgery looks
really good. Now: I have to
just hold him back from doing
things he should not be doing
for a bit.
What a crazy period for us but
as it looks like he is recovering
I am content with something.
Thanks, everyone.

Having the dog run and pull
me has helped him get through
the cold and snow and enough
to move that rear of his to do
the necessary.
He is over it: now. Thank heaven!
lol

To all the Pete fans.
I wanted to be sure you were up to date on Pete. It might not be my place but he has come to our rescue on more than one occasion and he needs us now. He has been going through hell and high water and we have him on our radar and pray list.
As you can see Barb is the one to contact.
He knew he had the cancer in the leg and it was to be removed. But then....
Feb 20th
From AveD
I got news from PeteC today & he told me to share. The surgery had complications. He might have lost both legs due to an artery issue so it was necessary to go back the next day to correct that & it was successful. He is experiencing (his word) "challenging" phantom sensations. This is an extensive leg amputation to the right hip/buttock area. He said it will be a long, long recovery.
~~~~~~~
So do keep him in your thoughts fans. I took it upon myself to share this news about a guy who helped me once. _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |
Oh thanks Cinder for posting that!
I am working on an update which he said to share on this forum but he will look it over first for any corrections to the facts I might have incorrectly.
This is what he emailed me with this morning, his words:
(i also posted it on my FB page for those who have FB)
An update this morning from PeteC for all his many SST AFM & EFM friends here on FB. His words: 'The doctors are caravaning in and the consensus is that I am progressing in the right direction. They have removed two of the three drains. Progress. This is a definite sign of recovery for that phase of the surgery. The pathology on margins were all clear and the best that could be hoped for.'
and soon after that a short p.s. ' They just took the last tube out of my arm. We're moving to the rehabilitation section.'
So its good news! he's headed to rehab a little scared but willing to do whatever is necessary. |
Good to hear from Pete! I missed him here at SST.
I keep my fingers crossed for a smooth healing and rehab process! _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,
I can't believe this. Pete is such a wonderful, funny, vibrant person, and it sucks to hear about all the problems he's had this past two years and change.
My prayers are with him. |
Pete wrote to say he had a little setback with internal bleeding
but intends (his words) 'to take up the cross & carry on asap'
& is dreaming of the day walking with his prosthetic.
He's grateful for your encouragement, well wishes & prayers. |
