Two great new scores bought:

Race One of the two new Rachel Portman scores, this being the score of the soon to be released Jesse Owens biopic. Reckognizable Portman with an heroic theme in it. If you like "Legend of Bagger Vance" this is to be loved.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; Sword of Destiny
Follow up on the Tan Dun scored martial arts movie by Shigeru Umebayashi but with much more layered music and beautiful themes.

Added this one (still missing) from my TOP15 from Best Scores 2015
Completion of that list will be done soon.

Un + Une by Maestro Francis Lai
A remarkable, stunningly beautiful score by the French Grandmaster of romantic scores. Again a score for a Claude Lelouch movie

After hearing a few nice tracks from "Of mind and music" I started to check out this American composer with Cuban roots.
Ended up buying two of his wonderful scores.
IMHO a composer that has the ability to become a big one.

Here's my roundup of recent-ish ST purchases, not counting titles for donations:

These first 10 were from a little spree through the sale bins at Amoeba SF – generally older stuff, but for the price it was a good opportunity
to fill in some gaps in my collection. I think it was around $24 all together. (!)

Then the rest of these are just various online purchases, with everything $9 or less apiece. Well, except for the X-Files box set. (I wish! lol)

Is there a CD of Two Steps from Hell? I did not know that. I thought it was digital only.

New beauties in my database:

Dark Waves:Belerofonte Great, darkish score with vocals sounding like a classic Morricone by upcoming Italian composer Alexander Cimini
His "Red Krokodil" was on my longlist last year.
Michele Strogoff; il corriere dello Zar new release of this epic Marco Frisina score for the 1999 TV-movie
Bach in Brazil Fun German-Brazilian musicfilm in the style of "les Choristes" and "Sa som I Himmeln" with all Bach arrangements flavoured in Brazilian rhythms.
Chocolat by Gabriel Yared Sometimes tragic, sometimes circuslike score fitting to the atmosphere of
this new French cinema favorite with Omar Sy

My most recent visit to our local media seller ended up with two classics: "1492 - Conquest Of Paradise" by Vangelis and "Finding Neverland" by Jan A.P. Kaczmarek. So great music for such little money that I couldn't resist in buying also the soundtrack for the new GoT season Smile

European soundtracks purchased recently:

Angelique by Nathaniel Méchaly (FR) a classic score for French adventure movie
Come Te Nessuno Mai (But Forever In My Mind) by Paolo Buonvino (IT) an interesting Italian composer
Filth by Clint Mansell (GB) disturbing music for the movie with naughty James McAvoy
Michael Flatley's Lord Of The Dance by Ronan Hardiman (IE) some Irish music for a dance production
The Most Incredible Thing by Neil Tennant, Chris Lowe (GB) a modern ballet (adaptation of H.C. Andersen's fairy tale) scored by veterans of British pop music
Sunny Et L'Elephant by Joe Hisaishi (FR) exotic mix: Thai story made by French people in English scored by Japan composer Shocked
Trance by Rick Smith (GB) Danny Boyle's movie (very good btw, McAvoy again!) scored by the member of British electronic group, Underworld
Une Nouvelle Amie (The New Girlfriend) by Philippe Rombi (FR) classic Rombi for piano lovers

I decided to donate these albums. They should be in SST library soon.
