I had heard from some friends that FFX Was good, but then I went out & bought it when I heard some of the songs from the soundtrack on another request radio station (only for game tracks, until a rival station took it down... Sad )

I love final fantasy now, as most of the games have great music

I also rented (not bought, since I heard it was short) Metal Gear Solid 2

I loved it, since all the music was great

I enjoyed the music to Final Fantasy VII, but I haven't played the game in such a long time so I would probably have to hear some of the music again before I decided to try finding it. Great game though!

Is there no better place to find out? Smile

We recently added FF7 Piano. I like the selection from live concert Final Fantasy Concert 20020220 too. The OST is a bit midi-ish though. Depends on your taste.

Excellent! Thank you for adding it! Next chance I get a request I'll go for FF7!

I haven't bought a game specifically for an st but I too have really enjoyed the FF series musically, the Myst games and some of the stuff from the broken sword series (the opening theme to Broken Sword 3 is really good).

I loved the Baldur's Gate music too. Is the music on SST for Baldur's gate ripped or original audio CD?

This thread made me think of all those great midi scores to various games that some people have spoken about. I really liked the music to the Breath of Fire series and Alundra for the PS1.

I'd like to hear some of these scores rearranged for a proper orchestra. What are other midi scores would you like to hear played by an orchestra?

IT is ripped. BG2 has it's own CD.

Oh man I can make a huge list of midi game music I would want orchestrated. Here are some:

More music from the original 8-bit NES of course, including:
Metroid
Legacy of the Wizard
Ninja Gaiden
Gauntlet
(best of) Mega Man

A compilation of the best songs would be nice from games like Double Dragon, Ikari Warriors, Faxanadu, Kid Icarus, Metal Gear, Ultima, Willow.

Maybe we should all write something up and send it to Varese for consideration? That would be so awesome to have a double-disc best of NES soundtrack that is totally orchestrated. Obtaining rights for each game must be a bitch though.

Hey, great idea Jeric... I'll bet you could have a double CD with the best of Mega Man alone.

well, if you want to hear the main theme of final fantasy VII, go to www.ocremix.org & dload a song called Philharmonic Mix V1

It's a remix of the main theme, done so it sounds like an orchestra.
