Well, from my experience, it’s JERIC. When I am going to donate a new soundtrack, I ask him if someone has already done it. For example, last time I was informed about Bear and his new Godzilla album. Another thing that he doesn’t always respond to my requests or he does it much later. You must be patient. |

Oh boy, well, I hadn't listened to it yet. Good to know. Thanks. Maybe I'll just hold on to it, then. |

You were right, it's been a month. Is there anything else I should do (maybe make a post in the Requests section?) or have I done all? |

Hi!
I've been absent lately because listening and requesting at work is a bit difficult for me now...
However, since I've been an active supporter of SST for quite a long time, I'd really, really like to know if playlist updates could be done more frequently. It's been (again) more than six months already... So, a very polite question, does SST have a future and if yes, how can we ensure it to remain more relevant with e.g. playlist updates once in two or three months?
I'm not sure if I'll be motivated to donate any more albums when the wait to see them added to the playlist is as long it is now...
(Admins, feel free to move this post some other thread if you think this is not the right place for this. Thanks!) |

I understand what you mean GalFin. I used to have exactly the same thoughts. There were even spells when I was not sending CDs to JERIC because I thought he wasn't really interested in getting them. But sooner or later I was returning to old habits and today I still buy music for SST from time to time.
It's pretty obvious SST is not as high among JERIC's priorities as it used to be. I'm not sure how long SST will exist. At the moment JERIC may seem not too eager to add new albums regularly but I'm sure he still wants to keep this station alive.
And it's still a very special place in the internet for me _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Hey 607!
I contacted JERIC and today I’ve got an answer that he doesn’t have „Detective Pikachu” album. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

I'm sending a few more albums to our headquarters!
1) “Cinema JAZZ 2” by Various artists (a compilation of jazzy film music by Elmer Bernstein, Martial Solal, Alex North, Leith Stevens, Charlie Parker and Chet Baker)
2) “Dance Macabre” by Zbigniew Preisner (this is a score to a theatre play, so I'm not sure if it is going to be added)
3) “The History of Eternity” - another score by Zbigniew Preisner.
4) “Lost And Love” yes you've guessed it... one more by Zbigniew Preisner.
5) “Miedzy ekranem a scena – Muzyka filmowa i teatralna” – nice compilation of film and theatre works by a Polish composer Piotr Salaber (you can already find one of his scores in our library). _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

If it's a physical CD you can just send it to SST's address:
SST
c/o 24seven.FM, LLC
P.O. Box 6455
Richmond, VA 23230
USA
But please let me ask JERIC if he's interested in adding this, first. I'll let you know asap. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Cool. Maybe I should create a topic in Requests? |

So is that something we should be worried about? The continuity of SST? If JERIC is the sole “upholder” of all things SST, then that doesn’t sound very comforting. I’d really hate to see the site go down if (god forbid) JERIC would either no longer be able or willing to keep things going... _________________ "Speak for yourself, Sir. I plan to live forever." JERIC wants to keep SST alive. No doubt about it.
And he is the man who calls the shots, pays the bills and has the plug in his hand indeed.
But having said that I don’t expect us to be back to old habit of one playlist update a month for example. And I also expect our community to keep shrinking slowly as there is a lot of other ways of listening to the music available (and a lot of them on demand).
Looks like we are simply getting old and drift off of the mainstream _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

That would make sense (although this does seem off-topic, I'm not sure if that's a problem). There's nothing like SST (besides the other 24seven.FM stations I guess) as far as I'm aware, but maybe there are very few people that would want something like SST.
I also feel like forums have been greatly declining in popularity over the last 10 years, but the forum isn't quite the heart of SST, I'd say. |
