Within the past few days I've noticed ads (provided by Amazon?) during the requesting process. They are full page ads and make it impossible to add a request message, and in some cases never go away. I just had to open a new tab to get back to SST.

I'm not anti-ad, and understand that they support this station, but in this specific implementation they're detrimental to the user experience. (Is that enough buzzwords?)

Hi j2, I have noticed the same problem. Full-page ads that I can't seem to dismiss or click past, the most annoying consequence of which is not being able to leave a request message. I agree ads are a sort of necessary evil that non-VIP users should be expected to tolerate, and I will gladly tolerate them. But in this case it really is detrimental to the user experience. It doesn't seem to occur all the time, so I'm not sure if there is a trick to it.

This is something that the mods and admins are aware of and are investigating, however, currently, we are just as stumped about it as everyone else.

I have heard from other members that having an ad blocker or a pihole running seems to help.

I only seem to get it when I first boot up my browser and all of my plugins (ie Adblocker) have not fully loaded yet.

Aren't paying customers allowed to enjoy an ad free site? Very Happy

If they would, VIPs wouldn't get ads. I am getting some.

I have however not experienced the issue described here.

I wasn't seeing this on my usual PC, but now I'm running from my laptop I get it regularly, so it must be connected to settings somehow.
It seems like I only get it when selecting something from my favs page - (and then only about 1 time in 3). So yes, if I req from favs it stops me entering a message, but if I select an album from favs, then I get the ad when going to the album but can request normally from there.
Does someone else want to try and see if that's also true for them?

I have not had this issue. I do think there is some sort of ad blocker on here, but I do get the small banner ads. I really don't know what is on my computer as it's a MAC and I hate MACs.

The problem source is in page code, related to Google Vigrette ad engine. Admins did something terribly wrong implementing it here like that Wink

jonathan_Archer mentioned Google Vignette today, and reading up, that seems likely as a source of these ads, particularly as they seem to be on leaving the Favorites page (at least for me). See https://www.monetizemore.com/blog/vignette-ads-show-desktop/

It looks like these can be turned off for PCs/Laptops if the resolution is greater than 1000 pixels wide, but not for smaller screens.

Performed test requests. Just triggered again.

June 14th:
Was again unable to leave a message after a request. Chrome, Windows 10.

Just adding my experience here: I get an ad the first time I click on any pages of the website (I usually get to SST's Queue/Played page and move from there). This is on Safari.
