Hi,

@607:
Ha, I discovered and ordered The Life and Times of Scrooge in 2018, I think.
It is indeed a wonderful album. Some quiet passages as well as bombastic, epic tracks.

Although I've thought of it less as a soundtrack so far.
But it's kind of true, actually goes in that direction. Does music to an unfilmed comic count as a soundtrack? Very Happy

The album is also available as a variant without lyrics/vocals. Maybe this one would pass? Smile

--

But my last buy was Anno 1800 (indirectly by buying the game Wink ):

ooh, nice atanamo Very Happy I sunk too many hours into that game and the music as well Very Happy Did you also get the soundtracks for the DLC? I thought especially the "land of lions" music was really cool. Probably because it reminded me of Divinity: Original Sin II (IIRc my most recent purchase half a year ago) from the instrumentation, but still good music Smile

Which reminds me, I always wanted to have all this great music added here, time to post some threads about that then Very Happy

Edit: No, wait, my last soundtrack was actually Trine 4: Melody of Mystery OST Smile really wonderful music, I love the cross-over between the plybox theme and the astral academy theme Smile definitely worth adding as well Very Happy

I picked up 1942 - Conquest of Paradise at a thrift shop yesterday. I wasn't familiar with it myself except for the main theme, but I am VFC, so I thought I should take it. I like it! I see it's popular on SST too. Smile

My fav Vangelis album is Heaven and Hell. For those of us who are in the VFC, you might check it out if you don't know it.
Be warned though, it's pretty... unusual Smile
It also contains the beautifil Vangelis & Jon (Anderson) track "So Long Ago, So Clear"

A small haul from a stop @ Amoeba Records LA:

Also a couple of titles outside our library here:
Young Man with a Horn (1950) OST - Doris Day & Harry James
Cinema Serenade 2: The Golden Age - John Williams & Itzhak Perlman

G&D is my first Jerry title, I *think* but not sure.
SK & TP2 were both long-time wishlist albums.
Butterfly's Dream was one I recognized from here & had liked.
Endgame, I had digital but not a hard copy (slightly abridged tracklist w/modified versions of a few cuts).
DD is one of my faves & the soundtrack was one of hers I didn't have. Some great renditions of American songbook standards.
And the JW was a random find but pretty amazing – his arrangements of classic film centerpieces w/Perlman highlighting solos.
Very pleased with each & every one of them!

Nice find, 607!

Since all of the soundtrack specialty labels seemed to be having sales just recently, I picked up these:

John Williams - Diamond Head (1963) / Lalo Schifrin - Gone with the Wave (1964)
John Williams - Nightwatch (1965) / Quincy Jones - Killer by Night (1972)
The House with a Clock in Its Walls (Ltd Ed) - Nathan Barr
An American in Paris (2CD) - Gershwin w/Gene Kelly
Babe (Deluxe Ed) - Nigel Westlake
The Rendezvous - Austin Wintory
Outlander s6 - Bear McCreary

The JW titles are both "two-fers" from Film Score Monthly. The top one marks the first Lalo Schifrin entry in my library, same for the Barr & Wintory titles.
I also got a second copy of Outlander to donate for the station... 'cause I'm keeping mine!

In 2022 I bought more soundtracks than any year before! In fact, I more than doubled my soundtrack collection. Surprised Most of them are cheap classics... but that doesn't make them less valuable to me, a classic is a classic! Wink

I shared Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel before, besides that Enola Holmes 2 and The Call of the Wild were also new. The rest are second-hand from Discogs, except for Antarctica, which was a really lucky find at a physical rock shop. It was in the second-hand classical section, for some reason... and is the original Japanese CD release from 1983! Got that for way under value. Very Happy
