I think it sounds kinda fun.
Although I still the the Swimsuit Calendar idea I posted about 2 years ago would have been a huge money-maker |

I too think this could be fun.
And I totally think Pixie's Swimsuit Calendar idea is brilliant! _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. Sounds like an interesting idea. I might participate if there were good prizes. |

I've tried contests before and the participation was very very disappointing. If we were to get some goodies again I'm willing to try something new to give them away as prizes. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

I'd like the idea but...
Most contests I know on the internet are only for people who lives is the US or Canada.
How about the costs to send stuff overseas.
I don't how much it costs to get it here, but I remember ordering a couple of DVD's at Amazon and I had to pay an additional $15 for customs.
So much for buying cheaper on the internet.
Just a thought. _________________ In a world without justice, one man was chosen to protect the innocent. |

Yeah, I think this is a good idea as well, but Patje's point about the postage is true - it can cost quite a lot to get things to the UK from the US!!
Having said that SST is approaching 7000 listeners! If only 50 contributed $2 for a single prize raffle that would leave plenty for postage and a tasty profit for the site!
Over and above that could there be a downloadable prize? On a voucher that could be used on-line? |

Another problem with a contest like this is that many people don't feel safe with internet payment things. I've always had that problem because my parents don't really like paying stuff over the net.
But as I got my own visa a month back, that is kind of taken care of even though they still don't want me to use it for online payment.
No matter how safe it is I still think it's something that holds some people back from donating/joining a contest like this. |

A bit off-topic, I know.

Of course, not everybody is font of paying on the internet with their creditcard. But the weirdest thing is, you see people in restaurants give away their credit-card to the waiter. You don't know what they do with it. And yet, everybody thinks that's safe.
Now, I'm not saying internet-payment is always safe, but companies like Amazon are ok. If you don't trust it, don't do it. _________________ In a world without justice, one man was chosen to protect the innocent. |
