Why worry about it being "kiddied" down? After all, the original cartoon was meant for kids... and I'll bet most of us would enjoy watching an episode or two even now.

Man, this is great news! And I agree Hurr, so what if it's kiddied down? Although from what the article says it sounds like they want to take fans of the original cartoon into account and with Spielberg on board I'd expect a movie that tried to transcemd the ages a la Shrek.

I'm not suggesting comedy, you understand, but something that would appeal visually to kids but perhaps have a script with nuances adults would emjoy.

Right on, Mellowman... although it's not like they can really put too many adult nuances into it. No matter how cool they are, the Transformers are machines, not people. It's not like they can have a subplot about Bumblebee's sexual addiction problems. Wink

Bumblebee had sexual addiction problems? Darn, and I thought I knew all there was to know about Transformers!

I was thinking more of Soundwave's drug problem; he had to have one with a spaced out voice like that.

Oh yeah... and that was nothing in comparison to Starscream's obvious addiction to speed.

Kidded down i mean on if they are going to make as real as it can be. How the transfomers would react in real the real world. they have a battle things get really messed up, people get killed, citys get damaged, the military wants the technology. that stuff. i think cocles know what i'm saying:)

Yeah, I see your point, Obi. If they made it completely straight it could be an awesome film. I don't think they will, mind you. I reckon that the cgi of tranformers would draw in the viewers regardless of the sript or storyline.

I hope a bit more thought goes into it than just crowd pulling special effects.

Well, it is being overseen by the big man himself, Steven Spielberg... and he has a pretty good track record as an executive producer... only a few complete duds on his resume.
