They just opened up "East Hollywood High School" here in Utah. It's supposed to be a movie school. From the newspaper article about it: "Elective classes include script writing, cinematography, sound, lighting, acting, directing, makeup, costume design, special effects, editing, and newscast production while the school follows the state core curriculum."

Okay I'm just going to stop this before it gets out of hand.

All joking aside, the colloquial term is "Film School".

About the movie Intersection:

4.8 on IMDB. Battle Field earth has less.

Catwoman is 3.0 on Imdb. I can relate to that.
I thought Charlie's Angels 2 was very bad.

Check out the worst 100 movies according to the voters on Imdb.

Good thing that I've either never heard of many of these movies or never seen them...

I've seen so many bad movies, but this year I can say The Village was horrible that was very painful to watch.

Hmmm, there certainly are a lot of movies on that bottom 100 list that were featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000. I can't help but think that some of the rankings have been influenced by that.

Don't get me wrong, they're well deserving of being ranked among the lowest of the low; I'm just speculating that because of their association with the show, more people have rated them (and rated them low) than would have done so otherwise.

Hmm. All the movies mentioned here are pretty bad. But for some reason, the lame Antonio Banderas vehicle "The 13th Warrior" really got on my nerves. Why can't John McTiernan make good movies, like he used to? (eg Die Hard, Predator)

13th Warrior was a great movie.

Unfortunately most people don't know what the hell it is, and don't care when they find out.

Suffice to say, that to fully enjoy 13th Warrior you need to have read the book "Eaters of the Dead" and have a love for the epic poem "Beowulf".

Interesting that you feel that way, Cocles.

I don't know if I'd say that I have a great love for Beowulf, but I'm on ok terms with it.

Perhaps I should read the Crichton book and then try the movie again. Maybe I'll like it better then.

I'm not really sure why I didn't like it the first time. I suppose it just didn't grab my attention the way I had hoped it might.

Reading Eaters of the Dead (and the forward by Crichton about why he wrote it) definitely helps.

I give the movie about an 8/10, which is good since I tend to judge adaptiation more harshly.

although a magnificent filmaker, Michelangelo Antonioni's Zabriskie Point was my candidate for the worst film ever made for decades, with not a single challenger on the horizon until i suffered thru the Blair Witch Project....the Midnight crowd i saw it with agreed with me and She Who Must Be Obeyed and threw popcorn and candy and soda at the screen, etc...i walked out of Zabriskie Point back in 1970, but i forced myself to endure the stupid handheld camera work to verify that someone had acutally beaten the atrocious film work of Zabriskie Point to the bottom of the barrel of muck and mire....

Interesting how BOTH Baby Genius movies are on the IMDB worst list. When will they learn? Smile

I've seen plenty of bad slasher films in the 80s, all worthy of being on some sort of list. I also remember really hating this movie called Kids, which was basically two hours of ugly kids doing really nasty things to each other--and themselves. Some reviews called it a gritty, realistic depiction of urban youth in New York. Whatever...the movie still sucked, IMO.
