I just love how Max Steiner underscored the dialogue scenes in this one. No composer knows how to precisely match the action (and emotions) on the screen like he does. King Kong is great too. We should definitely have more Steiner here. |

I'd love to see this ST. This is my all time favorite movie. Great request Thur. _________________ "Education's responsibility is to replace an empty mind with an open one" --Malcolm Forbes |

The father of movie music is arguably Max Steiner. Set up a category please!! |

GWTW currently doesn't have a good quality ST available. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

.. so if there is ever an acceptable soundtrack... get it get it get it please. I just watch the movie sometimes for the music alone! _________________ "Great balls of fire. Don't bother me anymore, and don't call me sugar!"

I'm waiting for a remastered version. The sound quality of the original soundtrack is unacceptable to me. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

oooh yes that's understandable Jeric. Has there been any talk of one? It certainly warrants it as a historic piece, and one of Steiner's most recognizable ever. |

I haven't heard any talk about it. I'm sure any label will make money doing it though. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

I hope they do make a new one. That is a great movie and one of the first really great scores. |

Amen to that! Here's hoping they put out a high-quality CD ASAP. It's got my vote! _________________ "You're an interesting species, an interesting mix. You're capable of such beautiful dreams and such horrible nightmares. You feel so lost, so cut off, so alone, only you're not." -Contact |
