Surprised Surprised Surprised
What have they done to one of my favorite movies?? Sad Sad Sad

Spoiler:
I guess I should have expected Tim Burton to make it Willy Wonka meets The Nightmare Berfore Christmas. Sad What was going on with Johnny Depp's hair and the Bug Eye Glasses?!?!?! And the song...what happened to the good songs? That one was crappy Sad

I'll still have to see it and give it a chance, but the trailer looks awful. Sad

I never really like the original. I loved the book though. I don't like the bug eye glasses, but looking forward to see what burton/elfman have done for it.

That was unusual. I was expecting Burton to make it darker than the original book/film, but that looked positively madcap!

[Note: this is meant to be a criticism]

I had heard it would be darker, more inline w/ the book. I thought the one w/ wilder was too madcap. I hope this one isn't.

The trailer looks good. I can't wait to see the film. I've always enjoyed Burton's work and to know that Elfman is doing the music it makes me want to see it even more.

I am skeptical. If it was not from Tim Burton, I would not even consider watching this movie. But it is from Tim Burton, it cannot be that crapy... right?

As for the music, some trailers borrow scores from other movies. Let's hope it was the case. I love Danny Elfman a lot usually...

Guys, its a teaser... You're not going to be able to determine how dark a film is from a few quick shots... Anyone who has read the book knows that Wonka's "darkness" comes from his reactions, such shrugging off the misfortunes of the children...

Anyone who says the film isn't going to be dark based on this can't possibly know what they are talking about. But from what I have seen of the set design, character design, and what we have seen of how the characters are played, thats whats gotten me excited...

I just saw Pee Wee's Big Adventure this week-end. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will probably be of a similar spirit.

I'm putting my faith in Burton for this to be extremely dark. I want that Veruca to bite it, and I want it now!
