|
In effort to become more compliant with the DMCA, we're running a new script that keeps the queue at a minimum of 60 minutes. I know this is a bummer for most of you because it will now take longer to hear your request. I hope you all understand though this is something we must do in order to not only progress but survive. Thank you. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

A bummer indeed.
But I'm sure we can live with it. |

I think it's great. Maybe we can all be exposed to new stuff from the vast library here instead of the same music over and over. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

I really don't feel we got to hear the same music over and over again. I've discovered a lot of great new music everyday when listening to SST, 60 minutes queue or not. |

during the "day" sst time, it is a lot of the same cd's w/ some random ones on occassion. And I myself am guilty about selecting from the same 20 or st's. I think with this and the new random feature we'll get a lot of new stuff. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

Jeric, will the request timer have to stay at least 1/60 also, or will it be allowed to be lower - like say 1/30? SAM/HAL can keep the queue filled to 60 minutes when we aren't filling it, but a lower request timer can still let us get a few in. _________________ "insert your own clever quote here.... Tjoe - when it's at 1/60 and we are requesting, SAM/HAL won't be requesting. It only fills in when we don't. So during peak hours, it will still be all us. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

Thur - that wasn't the question.
And, I see by the request timer presently set to 1/15, I got the answer to my actual question. _________________ "insert your own clever quote here.... I'm too lazy to do it." |

Will this kinda sucks but i will get used to it. I do agree with Shock that i don't hear the same music over and over, but that i hear new stuff all the time. I've been enjoying new stuff a lot lately.
TJoe, good question, i had the same one! _________________ Grab a beer, don't cost nuttin... |

What I fail to see is the DMCA's motives for doing this. But as usual they work in mysterious ways... terribly mysterious. _________________ "Anything one man can imagine,

The motive is to keep digital radio stations from being "audio on demand" services. |

That's funny. Some of the FM radio stations near me have a habit of recycling the same songs over and over and yet they're not "audio on demand." Yet DMCA is making that rule. That's irony for ya!! _________________ It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone. - Homer Simpson

that's b/c the station and not the audience is making the selection. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |
