Not sure if this was covered....
The saddest score - Adagio for Strings from The Elephant Man... I believe this song was also used in Platoon - pretty sad tune. |

OK - continuing through the New Year...
Morricone has two other deeply moving scores: The Mission (Gabriel's Oboe); and Hamlet (the opening titles during the King's funeral). But the one that's the most consistant to give me lump in the throat, not because it's sad, is Williams's E.T. score when Elliot goes off the cliff on his bike only to soar over the moon. |
