My oldest as well, it's hard for me to get on to her for that one. Feel a little hypocritical. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

There's nothing hypocritical about wanting your kids to do better than you did. Just because you did something wrong is no reason to allow them to do it. Let them learn from your mistakes instead of them learning in on their own.
Now, to get this thread back towards the topic:
Maybe JERIC and the old timers could come up with some SST trivia information that we could collect and post as part of a potential 10000 users celebration. I'm not sure what kind of data is available, but I was thinking of things like "First track played on SST" or "First donated soundtrack" and maybe some stuff from the database like "Most/least requested track/album" or "Longest/shortest track" or things like that.
I'm open to ideas. Post here or PM me (but don't post answers here if you know them, please).

It looks like today will be the day that we hit 10000 members. It's been a great year for SST so far. Hopefully it's just a sign of things to come.
As for all the stuff I planned...it didn't happen. Maybe JERIC has something planned that I don't know about.
In any case, another round of congrats and thanks to everybody who makes SST the great site/station that it is.

Does this mean it's time for another prediction for me? Okay, then let's see...
I don't see a shadow, so I'm predicting 17000 this time next year!

Maybe instead of putting out the fire I should bring a ladder to get Asri out of the hole she fell into.

Greetings,
I know this is an old discussion, but it seemed the most appropriate place to ask a couple questions. If there are 13,539 registered users, how many of those are regulars? I guess “regulars” would have to be defined. And since an individual can listen without logging in, it might be hard to tell how often a certain person drops in. I’ve noticed that there are as many as 700 some-odd listeners during a busy time, but there would have to be a big turn over to reach 13,000, right? I imagine there are not any where near 13,539 people who make SST a frequent stop, but is there any way to know approximately how many folks are out there as a part of this community?
If this topic has already been discussed, sorry, but I was just curious-that’s all. I’m also not advocating or suggesting any kind of “big-brother” vibe for JERIC or any of the moderators, I know you guys and gals have better things to do than that. Just something that I wondered as I see the ‘new today” number every morning.
Thanks, Dufresne |

You can sort the member list by number of posts in the forum. The might offer a hint of the number of regular folks but that will only count folks who participate in the forum. I don't know that any stats are logged for chat participation or anything else, though.
