Hey everyone! I was able to hit an advance screening of Batman Begins last night.

I have posted my non-spoiler review of the film on my blog for all to see:

"When the movie ended (...) I heard cheers of take THAT Star Wars!", (...) many people high-fived each other."

Jeeeez. How corny is that?

Saw the movie last night and I thought it was really awesome! (We were even escorted in to the theatre by Batman!)

As a side note, I personally don't like to know anything about a movie before I see it. (I barely like to see the trailer) While dalandis' review didn't give away plot elements, I would say it gave enough info that I would have been upset had I read it before I saw the movie.

Spoiler:
Seeing as how I mentioned I like to avoid knowing about the movie ahead of time, I even avoided hearing the soundtrack. My only complaint about this movie was that personally I would have much preferred to have heard the Batman theme. Don't get me wrong, the score is great- but it would have been cooler, in my opinion to hear the Batman theme.
Christian Bale is the best Batman. He was perfect for the part.
The Batmobile was BAD A**!! And the payoff when he was tearing it up around the city was awesome!
It was really interesting to see him grow and develop into who he really is: Batman.

PG-13 for a reason- it may be a bit much for younger children.

Anyway, great movie!

Wow, I was really blown away. Not only was this the best movie I've seen so far this year, it even tops the original Burton film, in my opinion. My hat goes off to Christopher Nolan, I can't wait to see the next one!

warning, one large spoiler ahead.......

Spoiler:
Top notch performances all around by the cast. A much better job of character development than the previous films, you can really see where the characters are coming from and have an easier job connecting to them. Bale was excellent as Batman, a perfect fit for the role! I really liked some of the smaller roles, particulary Morgan Freeman and Rutger Hauer. You don't see much of good old Rutger these days, which is a shame. My only complaint is that they killed off Ken Watanabe's character so soon. Granted he had a couple lines and a small fight scene, I would have liked to have seen a little more from him.
Moving along, The batmobile was awesome by the way! The action sequences where very skillfully done and I really enjoyed the zimmer/howard score.

Oh, Rumors say that to play the Joker in the next film a couple of people are already in talks. One of whom is Mark Hammil, who actually did the voice of the Joker on Batman the animated series. Luke Skywalker as the Joker? CrAzY.........

An amazing movie! Saw it last week and I consider it way above the rest of the Batman's, by far. I heard a lot of mixed opinions about the score. My opinion, Zimmer-Howard did a great job. I'm looking forward to listening to this soundtrack more.

Batman Begins was a much better movie than I expected. Due to the more darker and serious nature of the movie, I was afraid that it wouldn't be suited my taste. To my surprise, I found much to enjoy in this one. Highly recommended. Even if you're not a Batman fan, it's still a great movie on its own.

However, I still prefer Burton's original film mostly because his movie felt more like watching a live-action comic book whereas "Begins" often felt too much like a gothic soap opera (not to mention that the Batmobile needed a serious makeover). Plus, I like Burton's formula of the villains being given just as much focus as the hero. The scarecrow in "Begins" was cool, but needed more screen time, IMO. Hopefully, we'll see more of him in the inevitable sequel.

Speaking of the sequel, I have my fingers crossed for Mark Hamill.
