|
Time for me to start a topic in entertainment. In a lot of movies you have at the end a duel between the good person and the bad person. I am curious which duels you like the best and why.
Self reply:
I got two.
Deathstrike vs. Wolverine in X-2
Spoiler: Their regeneration powers gives that duel an awesome extra touch. I am a huge wolverine fan so I am bit biased on this one. |
The Bride vs. Bill in Kill Bill vol. 2
Spoiler: It takes a long time to prepare this duel. They are having a dialogue for like 15 mintues. The duel itself is only a matter of seconds. I love, the way Quentin did that one. |

This was kind of duel, but I was impressed by The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Cool topic, Cal. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

Not quite a duel in it's right sense, but the good vs. evil fight at the end of Chicken Run is memorable.
Spoiler: How the chickens revolt and fly off in their plane, with Mrs. Tweedy hanging on to the christmas lights behind the plane, and the scotish chick says: "A cling-on, Cap'n, and the engines can't take it." second only to Scotty himself. |
Other favorites are:
Back to the Future III - Marty McFly vs. Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen
Star Wars - Most of the lightsaber fights
Pirates of the Caribbean - Jack Sparrow vs. Barbossa (It's just so swashbuckling stereotypical) _________________ "Anything one man can imagine,

*Notes one more converted to Leone-ism*
Of course, I love all of Leone's duels. _________________ Who is General Failure and why is he reading my disk? |

Does the one in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark count? You know the one. It's not in the end of the movie, though. Oh well.

OMG! I forgot about that one! That definately beats my two duels. The one in Temple of Doom is awesome too where he does not have his gun :-) |

"We're getting too old for this shit".
Last duel in Lethal Weapon 4. It was the first time I saw Jet Li. Men, that guy is fast.
He kicks the hell out of Murtaugh & Riggs. _________________ In a world without justice, one man was chosen to protect the innocent. |

Although I love all the SW duels, I'm especially fond of the Darth Maul / Young Obi-Wan duel in EI. Some of the behind the back blocks rocked.
Another big favorite would be the all out wizard war of Gandalf and Saruman.
How about Luke vs. training droid (ha ha -- just kidding)
I definatly agree with Cal and the Temple of doom sans gun. Because of the tie back to Raiders _________________ "Asteroids do not concern me, Admiral" - Darth Vader, ESB |

"Enter the Dragon" had a classic final battle in a room of mirrors. That scene alone makes the film worth watching.
My all-time favorite duel is from "The Legend of Drunken Master" where Jackie Chan's character (Wong Fei-Hong) defeats the head Asian boss in the steel factory. The scene lasts twenty minutes.
And of course, I can't post in a duel thread without mentioning my favorite Star Wars duel: Obi-Wan vs. Anakin from "Revenge of the Sith". _________________ "You have been chosen to represent Earth in Mortal Kombat.
