Right on, thanks Asriana (with a capital A)
Spirited Away played this morning, and I enjoyed it.
I'll have to request some tracks from those, or listen more carefully to them when they come up. |

Maybe I should start listening to HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE. Sounds like a good score by a good composer. |

There is an interesting website called Settling the Score which is devoted to the Academy Awards for Best Original Score.
The best part is the Poll Results, where for each year since 1934 you can see what movie voters thought should have one the Oscar.
According to this website, Jerry Goldsmith would have won 10 Oscars instead of 1 and John Williams' tally goes up from 5 to 13! And they both tie in 1982. Amazing!! _________________ "After dark all cats are leopards." - Native American Proverb |

i was about to go nuts on this thread! Thanks Asriana for answering Duf.
I agree with all the picks but Nausicaa only because of the electronic keyboard portion of the ST.
Hisaishi won the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards for Howl's Moving Castle and the Annie for Spirited Away. For American awards that is it. He has won plenty in other countries though.
Kikujiro is still my fav of all the scores, but it is mainly piano. For full orchestra I love Howl's Moving Castle. It seems that most people on here like Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke the best. There isn't an album of his I don't like! _________________ Pixie "Actually Tree, I wasn't referring to you as a dingus, but seems like you might just qualify as one now!" |
