I would like to mix some soundtrack cues from various composers. My plan is to make some nice score-suites made out of the best cues I can find. For that I would need software which can edit wav or mp3, I would like to make smooth transitions between the different audio-cues, crossfading them for example.
Does anybody know of such software, I tried Nero Wave Editor and Audacity, both can't crossfade the cues so the transitions sound a bit forced and amateuristic.

Hey Jazzthieve,

Great idea! I've been thinking of doing something similar. Previously I used MixMeister to make a mix of dance, disco, and hip-hop for my wife to work out to. You can fade in and out, adjust volumes, and even adjust tempos for beat-matching (though you probably won't need that feature for scores). I believe it works with wav and mp3 as well as other audio formats.

The software came bundled with my soundcard, and even so, it was pretty robust and easy to use. (I have version 3; they sell version 6 now.) You can even download a trial version from the website.

Have fun, and let us know how your mix turns out!!!
