I like the addition of the pictures of the doctors Smile

Nen, as I write this, it starts in about 4 hours. Apparently the first episode is a Christmas special, which will be kinda funny watching that here in July.

That was awsome!

Now what though! I should have waited for CBC in the Fall.
Excellent season, loving the new Doc.

Tree - well you could always watch Torchwood the new show with Captain Jack. I believe it airs in October. Not sure though. (With all of the Torchwood plugging in season 2 I can't believe they didn't tell us when it was going to be on) Razz Can't be as good as Dr. Who though!

I can't help but feel a little bit disappointed in this season. I think the writing was better for season 1. I love Tennant as the Doctor though. He did an awesome job. I'm still deciding if I like him over Eccleston. I wish Chris Eccleston could have stayed for at least two more seasons then have David Tennant come on. Overall I enjoyed season 2 though, and I'm highly anticipating the Christmas episode and season 3 Very Happy

Sorry for the late reply. It has been a week since I saw The Christmas Invasion. It is so mega-unfair that you all have seen the entire second season and I have just started.

Oh well. Here we go. When I first heard about aliens invading London at Christmas I thought it sounded pretty tacky. But It seems as if no time has passed since the end of the first season because this episode had all the best elements of the first season: fast-moving, funny and thoroughly entertaining. Only a British sci-fi series can show it's hero fighting in his pajamas and make it not appear ridiculous. I think it is that light comic touch that really makes the show. The plot was a bit ho-hum and the aliens looked like they walked off the set of Star Wars, but it was all good fun. Now if only they could do something about Mickey. Surely this character has to go. Rose drops him like a bad smell whenever the Doctor appears and yet he till dotes on her. Get over it, Mickey and move on. It is a pretty thankless role for the actor, anyway. But I digress. What about the new Doctor? Well, when he started I thought, here we go, another manic, garrulous eccentric. But by the end of the episode he really came into his own, and David Tennant got to show his acting chops when the story took a surprisingly dark turn with the 'Torchwood' incident. Once the Doctor had selected his suit & trenchcoat outfit, he looked quite the dashing leading man. I'd give Mr Tennant a solid B.

All in all, a good episode. Can't wait for those strange cat-like creatures in episode 2.

Bring on the Doctor!!

umm yeah it is too bad you don't have the episodes. I wish there was a way to *cough-cough-BT-cough* you could watch them.

Mickey gets better as the season progresses in my opinion.

Snow

Glad you liked Christmas Invasion! I loved it when I first saw it. David Tennant won me over right away in that episode.

I'll have to go with Tree on the Mickey thing. I think he get's better throughout the season as well.

Fair enough. He just hasn't done much up until now.

Just saw the episode "New Earth". It was OK. Loved the Doctor and Rose switching between their own personalities and that of Cassandra. I thought the story was a bit derivative, but still entertaining.

I had problems with the writing in "New Earth". Too many plot holes.
I loved the performances from Tennant and Billie Piper though. They were great in it.
It was generally a fun episode Smile

Snow - did you get a preview for next week's episode?

Nen - the wolf episode? Yes. I remember reading a preview of Doctor Who in the newspaper and they said this was the first great episode of the second season. Can't wait.
