|
I know that we're not able to list the artist with their track in the queue. But I was wondering if it would be possible to have a link that would pop up a list of artists that are in queue. They don't need to be in any particular order (altho alpha order would probably work best). This way then one could quickly see who is in queue (but not necessarily where in the queue) and thus avoid the dreaded "Artist already in queue" message.

I prefer to have the request buttons disabled in the request window. |

Also interesting idea, Cal.
I suspect Cal's way is easier to introduce (am I right?)
BTW: Trinity3777 was talking about something similar earlier, but his idea looks more complicated than Caliburn's: http://www.streamingsoundtracks.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=3048&highlight=artist+queue+red _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

That would make it a lot easier trying to see if you can request something. Nice idea guys _________________ "Diaper backward spells repaid. Think about it." ~ Marshall McLuhan |

Or even a note across the top that reads "FYI: This artist is already in the queue." |

The plan is to go how Cal described. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

Great work Sensei!
I noticed that when an album with tracks from different composers is in the queue (like Swing Kids), only the tracks from the composer in queue are 'blocked'.
The tracks from other composers seem to be requestable, but are of course blocked by the Album-rule. _________________ The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on Flying: The knack of throwing yourself at the ground and miss.

I agree with stefan_nl!
Finally a more tolerant request system.

I feel bad saying this cause I am sure this took Sensei a ton of time (and I most definitely appreciate all of his hard work to make SST such a great place), but I am not as big a fan of this system as everyone else seems to be.
My biggest issue is now if I go into an album where an artist is already in queue all the buttons are non-requestable, but when as I hover over the buttons it just tells me that the Artist is in Queue. So, basically I have to wait until the composer is out of queue to see which songs have been requested in the last 8 days and which have not. For requests like John Williams this makes it tough since he is always in the queue and now one cannot really plan what song they might want to choose before someone else gets Williams in the queue. It is a minor gripe, but thought it would be important to share.
Thank you Jeric and Sensei! _________________ "My Logic is Undeniable" - I, Robot |
