I was really hoping to see this movie over the weekend, but found out it's only in limited release. Did anyone get to see this movie?

The only thing I've heard the story is playing in Vienna... Very Happy
I'm curious how funny the actors faked Austrian accent will be. Wink

I would like to see this movie! Does that help! No, probably not. But Rufus Sewell is in it, and that man can do (almost) no wrong by me.

I believe the accents are all the standard quasi-European Hollywood types, bpe. Sorry!

I was listening to the awesome Philip Glass score on my way to NY a few days ago and that just sparked my curiosity. I catched the film at a late screening at Loews and loved every moment of it, it's a subtle & atmospheric mystery/fantasy/romantic thriller, gorgeously shot by Dick Pope and with a great Ed Norton performance.

Top stuff.

Thank you Diane! I'm glad it was good. I hope it comes to our area soon.

My father found on one site that says the movie should be released nationwide on Sept. 1st if anyone is interested. Very Happy

No matter what the European locale, they mostly just give up and end up sounding English. Think of an "universal translator that's supposed to spit out a neutral accent", and that's what happens. Everyone is eventually speaking in Received Pronounciation. I think it's just easier and faster to film that way.

Lol... there really is such a thing as an awesome Philip Glass score!? Has he really come up with a new 5/4 measure that he has put on a non-infinite loop?! Razz

The Illusionist is the first Glass score I have knowingly purchased and overall I have been interested in the score which is rare cause I have not found Glass' work to be all that appealing to me.

I saw the trailer to this film the other day and it looked pretty cool. I am a huge fan of Edward Norton which helps even more. I will still wait for it to come out on DVD, but this movie looks very promising.
