Musician/producer/composer BT brings his ground-breading multimedia show to the Hollywood Bowl on Thursday, September 21 as part of Video Games Live. DTS Entertainment has just released his most personal work to day, "This Binary Universe," is a two-disc set that combines seven unique tracks composed in 5.1-channel surround sound fused with stunning animations by today's leading computer artists and animators. One can log onto www.btmusic.com or www.btnetwork.org for more information.

Please submit your questions here for BT. If we have anough we will procede with the interview. Stealth was one of my favorite soundtracks last year. Click here to view his albums on SST.

I'm actually going to that show. I can't wait! I've been waiting for a year to go since it was cancelled last year. Anyone else going? PM me.

Idea EDIT: Chandler recently created a new thread devoted to this topic, please follow this link to the Interview JERIC thread!

I know this isn't really an appropriate place for this comment, but to make sure its seen, I love the new additions to the site. The interview section has lead me to wonder if we could ever see an interview of JERIC. I know he IS SST really, but there is an opportunity to find out so much about him and the site's history. A few things in particular I would like to know:

How many STs did the site start up with 5 years ago and were they just from your own personal collection?

Did you ever predict that SST would be this successful?

What do you do for a living when you're not maintaining the site and its playlist?

What kind of setup do you have to integrate all of the STs to the digital library?

Who wrote the sweepers we currently use?

What do you envision for the future of SST?

Questions like these beg to be answered. Again, sorry to post here, but I didn't want to start a new thread. I just want to know if JERIC would be willing to take on some questions and post in Interview module.

Interesting proposition, MrTuff! What do you say, JERIC! Wink

As for BT, here are a few questions I would like to ask:

How do you regard the somewhat unconventional education at the renowned Berklee School of Music? Did your unique educational environment enhance or hinder your compositional abilities in any way? Do you suppose your composition style would be different had you had a more "classical" education?

You have worn many different hats throughout your career--from songwriter to DJ to producer to film composer. How does your experience in each of these areas influence your work in any of the others?

When scoring for film, you have tapped very unconventional means when reaching for a particular sound, like using pens on violin strings, for example. Can you describe the creative process that eventually leads to such a decision? Is it merely trial-and-error, or is it more deliberate?

Perhaps I'll think of more later. Congrats on these interviews! What a great addition to SST!!

What was your transition to film scoring like on Go coming from an electronic music background?

Any advice for other electronic musicians about what to learn before scoring for films effectively?

I was impressed that the score for Monster managed to capture the love between Wuornos and Selby and also convey the twisted state of the main character. Were you concerned that your score would sway the audience into being too sympathetic for a serial killer?

What has been your most positive film scoring experience so far?

How did you get connected to Video Games Live to perform This Binary Universe?

Is there an underlying theme or something that ties This Binary Universe together?

On This Binary Universe, could you describe what your plans are for the performances?

Are you worried about the reception of your work since the audience will be filled with video game fans? (Or if it's after the tour: How do you think the video game fans responded to your performances?)

Could you talk about your musical plans for Look? Where are you in the film scoring process on that?

Who are some of your favorite film composers? What qualities make them your favorites?

What types of musical sounds do you want to explore next?

What are some of your upcoming projects?

What kind've musical influences helped you decide on your career?
