I think suggested by LadyInque 15-days period is the best idea so far (It's 2 weeks plus one day - similar pattern to one week plus one day we've got now)

I also think that a 15 days no-repeat is a good pattern Smile

I agree w/ 15. 30 seems too long.

I agree with the 15 days for no repeats as a month does seem too long, although it would have certain advantages (no MR or certain Phillip Glass tracks for a month Very Happy jk MR fans)

I have a more mixed opinion about shorter no repeat time for new additions to the playlist. I probably would be against this. The good is that allows the new additions more exposure, but it then I would think that SST would have a more commerical radio feel to it.

I'd vote for 15 days.. so that tracks dont repeat exactly in the same day of the week but the day after..

15 days sounds great. Also the plan to allow exceptions (new releases, special days, etc) is a super idea.

15 days does sound like the best route at the moment anyway.

OK, sounds like 15 days is the winner. What about new releases? 3 days sound fine?

Ok, I have to say that I was all on board with Nate's 14 days, but I also like the extra day to keep things rotating more than just a 2 week play list. My vote is for 15 days. 30 seems very long. I know it is frustrating if someone requests a song I have been waiting for to become available, and they play it on the weekend, or a 2am. It would only make it worse having to wait for a month before even trying again.

I think 15 days sounds great. As for new release wait times I think 3 days is too short. Kinda like Fox said it would start to have a normal pop radio station sound cause the new music would get substantially more play and the back catalog would get ignored again (which is what we are trying to avoid by increasing the wait time in the first place). I personally think that a 'no repeat' time for new releases could be 8 days like we currently have or if you feel it should be even shorter than that I would say no shorter than 5 days. I think this allows a sufficient amount of time to pass while integrating songs from the back catalog. Just my two cents.

I think its a good idea to extend the waitingdays to 15, new releases is ok with 5 days for me, Im with Nate there..

And I also want to remind you all of the special days one can make.. cos when we (or should I say mostly myself-I Razz ) make those days, we always find unplayed tracks (if its not Pianoday ..lol) and we could also make a specialyearday.. like only play tracks from 1990 for instance.. And I still mean its just for those who wants.. maybe Im wrong, but I think most ppl like those special days.. if they are not to often. or tell me, what do you think?
Is it only annoying? Rolling Eyes

I like it, cos it makes me find new tracks and new composers, some bad and some very good..

*phirehugs* Smile

Nate does have a point, but I also think that if it's new, we want folks to be able to hear it. Especially since those new releases will only be new for the first month or so they're on the list. They won't stay at the 3 day wait. We usually add more than one or two albums at a time too. If the number added is less than the 15-20 we seem to be adding each time, I'd probably agree with the need for the wait time to be longer on new releases. I think we should try it at 3 and then, if what Nate suggests happens, it could be extended. What do y'all think?

And I don't think it's annoying, phire. I think a lot of folks really liked it when we'd have thematic days.

I like the 15-day no repeat. As for new tracks, I think it's great to have a shorter no-repeat time. I'm not sure what it should be, though. 3 sounds kinda short... 5 might work... 8... Maybe we should just start with 3 as JERIC suggested, then change it if it seems too short.

Oh, and special theme days are great, Phire, as is your new avatar--spectacular!
