X-Files? They should have let that die a nice death before it jumped the shark.
On a related note, has "jumped the shark" jumped the shark?

I don't think going 9 seasons and having a feature-length movie, ala "The X-Files", qualifies as being cancelled too soon.
I agree about jump the shark jumping the shark. The only place the current generation of young folks have ever seen "Happy Days" (where jump the shark originated) is on Nick at Nite. It's time for another term to take its place. |

I really enjoyed "Boston Public".
Not exactly a realistic picture of the modern day classroom, but I was always entertained! _________________ “Failure doesn't kill you. . . it increases your desire to make something happen.” - Kevin Costner |

Does anyone else remember, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. on Fox? Another Bruce Campbell gem, it was soo cheesy you couldn't help but love it. _________________ "Don't you think that idea is a little half-baked?

Do I!? I am still looking immensely for the DVD set here. I loved it when I was a kid and I think I will like it even more now, after seeing/reading other BC material.
In an unrelated note: I think X-files and Six feet under ended with their own terms, not by cancelling. |

Boston Public! I remember that show. It wasn't half bad.
That reminds me, for no reason whatsoever, of "Nothing Sacred." It was a show about priests, and thus instantly controversial. I only say one episode, which I liked well enough, but my father really liked it, and he keeps the dim hope alive that the whole series (including a few unaired episodes) will find its way to DVD.
Oh, and JohnMcClane, you can buy Brisco County at Amazon. In fact, it may still be discounted ($50, not $80.) |

Oh, I love Red Dwarf and Blackadder (the reason I can't watch House). Loved Space: Above and Beyond as well.
But I really miss Dead Like Me. |

brisco county (great call groovemerchant!)
batman the animated series
gargoyles (before it went all disney-fied)
one of my all time favorite shows was Action with jay mohr. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0206467/
way ahead of its time, pushing the envelope in its humor and satire. and jay mohr of course, was awesome as always. _________________ "I'm tired of trying to find happiness through lies and self-medicating. If you need me, I'll be at the bar."

Tru Calling wasn't that bad, could have developed into a well suspense story. |
