|
Hello there good folks,
well after a bit longer absence from work I return to find that most of the media extensions along with hefty portion of internet are blocked here at work Being we are quite a large company I can't even begin to hope someone will listen to me or help me out here
So I hope someone here may be able to help.
My memory isn't what it used to be but IIRC there was a "work friendly" stream. I'm not sure if it was this page or the other page I used to frequent so please excuse me if I'm just imagining
In any case no matter what stream I choose from "Click Here To Listen" I get:
Code: |
403 Forbidden
The following error occurred: Access denied by access control list.
Could not open error file |
I tried connecting directly to the stream through winamp and foobar and WMP but no go I'm not sure if ports used by those programs are blocked or is it just media content that is being blocked but no connecting for me :/
Any ideas?
Thank you for your time! |

There are firewall friendly streams. They are also included in the links on the 'Click here to listen' page, so if those links don't work, I guess your company blocked those addresses.
It might be that your browser uses a proxy, when that's not necessary. But as connecting to the streams with the media players didn't help, my guess is that is not causing the problem. _________________ The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on Flying: The knack of throwing yourself at the ground and miss.

So all the streams listed under "Click Here To Listen" are firewall friendly ? If that is so than it looks I'm really out of luck
And yeah we use proxy to connect to internet.
I'm not really well versed when it comes to these matters. How will I survive without SST |

Hehe yeah I have really stressful job and it was really much better since I "discovered" beauty of the soundtracks and SST. Now it is back to being pissed most of the time... It is kinda worse actually, pissed at work and pissed at lack of SST |

You may want to try to open the stream manually. You company's firewall could be blocking the .pls extension. Try CTRL+L in Winamp, lo.streamingsoundtracks.com, Enter. If that doesn't work try just the IP address: 209.9.229.207

You may want to rethink that. Most folks don't realize that the J really stands for Jamiyahsuitofi

Good one, have not thought about that. Maybe that would help R_R too. |

No, all the IPs are the same. If you are experiencing difficulties, please provide us with a detailed description and someone will be able to help you. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

I do not get it. It is very hard to block SST. We have streams on port 80. If you cannot listen to them. You cannot surf the internet. It is the same port. |

Software like WebSense uses a custom list as well, Caliburn. Somebody figured out that SST streams music and added us to the list. Doesn't matter what port, it's the destination IP/url that gets you.
