Well... I'm having Buffering Problems with the 128k Winamp Stream. Wink
For about a week now, the stream starts buffering every 2-10 minutes, sometimes not starting again until I close and re-start it manually.
I was just wondering if anyone else has difficulties as well.
Ordinarily I'd think it was just my internet connection, but I didn't have that problem (to this degree) before.

You can try to increase your player's buffer.

Assuming you're using Winamp:

In the Winamp Menu, you have to choose Options -> Preferences. Then, in the left tab: Plugins -> Input.

Choose Nullsoft MPEG Audio Decoder 3.5 (in_mp3.dll) and Configure.

And then, last tab, 'Streaming'.

I usually set the data buffer to 512 KB, prebuffer to 50% and rebuffer to 50% as well. It's actually very dependent on your internet connection, so you can try different values.

Hope this helps!

Thank you, alchemist Smile
I tried that and the problem seems to have gone away for the most part.
It's always gratifying to know that there are people who know more about Winamp than where the 'play' button is.... Wink

Laughing Thanks!

The trick mentioned above will indeed hide small internet hiccups but won't solve the problem completely.

I don't have WMP so I can't try myself, but I found this for WMP 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/mediaadvice/0066.mspx#EFF

To increase the size of your network buffer, do the following:

1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options.

2. Click the Performance tab.

3. Select Buffer <seconds> seconds of content, and then type a number between one and 60.

Can you try and tell if it helped? Thanks!

Thanks Alcemist!

I was trying that, but I think I was mistakingly lowering the buffer in terms of seconds of content. I'll give it a shot.

Appreciate it.
