The "Winner":
Reign of Fire - They put the one cool special effect they had in the trailer. Otherwise it was just some people running around in a washed-out looking landscape doing boring stuff.
...and a few more that just plain annoyed me:
Pitch Black - The name was the program. Partially it was so dark I couldn't make out what the actors were doing in the movie.
The Fog - I simply didn't care for any of the characters, or their reasons for doing stuff, or whether they lived or died...
The Butterfly Effect 2 - The first movie was weird and interesting, the second was so very much worse.

Hm, I liked Pitch Black, but Reign of Fire really was kind of weak.
Do you mean the remake of "The Fog" or the John Carpenter original?

The remake. I didn't even know that it was a remake until you asked...
I only hope that the original was better.

I liked the original Fog. The remake was pretty lame.
I'd like to add Eragon & Casino Royale to my list of snoozers bad movies.

"the fog" remake was definitely awful.
i almost walked out of "van helsing" but i was with people who seemed to be enjoying it. "starship troopers" - AWFUL. "the da vinci code" was a waste except for the score.
"catch me if you can" was such a bore, i skipped to the end and was still disappointed.
"the net" with sandra bullock is possibly my all time most hated movie. just stupid.
i agree with snow leopard's comment about disliking a movie when everyone else seems to love it, and not quite understanding the disconnect. for me those movies were "serenity" (of firefly fame)...and the LOTR movies. i really kind of hated them. but i'm a fan of the books.

"Inconceivable!" I found a movie that may be worse than the infamous Manos: Hands of Fate. It's a straight to DVD movie (to the best of my knowledge) called Hunting Humans. Staring no on at all and apparently passed from editor to editor in a desperate attempt to save it, this so clalled slasher flick is follows the exploits of a serial killer who finds himself the target of another serial killer. There is no possible way to cheer on this anti-protagonist. The revelation of the villian is predictable and very anti-climatic. Avoid this sorry excuse of a film at all costs. The only reason I got ahold of it is because FYE in the mall gave me a copy for free, figures.

I don't know if this has been mentioned.... but we just saw Blood Rayne. *makes barfing noise* The gore was absolutely ridiculous. Every time someone got cut they magically hit an artery.

I've got a few. Apologies if any were mentioned earlier. (I read the first page, and the last 1-2).
Dr. T and the Women - This was just horrendously bad. I think we only watched it all the way through because we saw it in the theater, and had paid to get in.
The Aviator - takes WAY too long to get started, and then ends just when it gets interesting.
I did not even finish the following. Just turned off the DVD player. For the most part, I simply could not get into these, which is pretty rare for me:
From Hell
Point Break
The Singing Detective
Oscar nominated movies. My wife and I have a bad habit of seeing Best Picture nominees simply because they are Best Picture nominees, and then hating the movies. There's a reason I mostly watch popcorn flicks, I guess. This list includes:
Adaptation
The Hours
The Aviator (see above)
Traffic
American Beauty
The English Patient
Critique these lists if you like. I know there are some well-liked films there, but I think that's the case for most of these lists.

Y'know, Grenadier, I hated Traffic, too. My dad and I saw it at the discount theater and were so bored! I thought it was obvious. I sent around via email a review of the film the next day, and one of my classmates handed my tuchus to me, about how I had missed the point, and the film could teach us so much. The fact that she personally knew Topher Grace may have had something to do with her ire. I still hate that movie.
And the English Patient? In a word... "beige." |

I was simply bored by a lot of the Oscar nominated ones listed there. I've almost totally forgotten Traffic and English Patient at this point. I simply didn't care about the characters, their problems, their fates, etc. I'm OK with talking heads in a movie, but they need to be interesting talking heads. |

"The Island of Doctor Moreau." (Newest version). Not only was it a horrible movie where the creatures looked like bad guys from Power Rangers, but it was such an awful adaptation of H.G. Wells' awesome book, that it made me want to cry! Never watch this movie! But read the book, because it is awesome scf-fi/horror!

Several months ago, I watched the french horror flick HIGH TENSION by Alexandre Aja, who directed the "The Hills Have Eyes"-Remake 2 years ago.
The first & second act are plain suspense & really well done, but the ending is one of the most senseless & stupid things I've ever seen.
Absolutely illogical and just there for the effect, I felt like p*ss*d of by it.
Just see the film and you'll know what I mean.

I just watched the Haloween remake. I almost thought that Rob Zombie would pull a miracle and make it a good movie. But, no.
@Asriana- I actually walked out of the theater and asked for a refund on the Eragon movie. They wouldn't give it to me. Oh well.
The movie was a big dissappointment. Obviously the director has to cut some parts out for time but, come on, changing the entire nature of magic? Not cool. They also destroyed the ending:

I got a new one for the list:
The Last Sentinel
The movie had Don Wilson and Katee Sackhoff, so I thought: "How bad can it be?"
The answer is: very, very, very much.
The 'story' is about the utterly un-fascinating exploits of two people who survived the depredations of the evil Drone Police.
One (Don Wilson) is the last survivor of an elite military unit who seems to hang around just because no one's killed him yet.
The other (Katee Sackhoff) is some sort of paramilitary rebel with a confused mission that seems to involve destroying a Drone Command Relay Center (or some such thing) - which apparently consists of ten or so Macs.
The two "heroes" meet, are attracted to each other, and try to accomplish said mission by various means, and they have difficulties with that.
So far, so yawn.
Spoiler: | In the end Mr. Elite Soldier battles an Evil Red Superdrone, wins, and he, Ms. Rebel and Superfluous Dog walk off smiling into the sunset. |
I don't know who made that movie, and why, and I don't care enough to try and find out.
The special effects were ludicrous, the sound was inordinately loud and tinny, apparently they slapped on color filters according to what the voices in their heads told them to do, and the cuts looked like they were made by using some sort of home video editor freeware.
The characters were not even two-dimensional, the story-line just wasn't, and, to drive you completely nuts, the super-soldier had some sort of Artificial Intelligence gadget that WOULDN'T STOP BLATHERING ON AND ON AND ON FOR SO MUCH AS A MINUTE!!!!!!!
All in all: this movie is the biggest waste of time I can imagine. Go watch TV commercials instead. They're much more entertaining.
