Hey everyone,
I randomly suggested this after hearing a couple of Oceans tracks this morning, and it occured to me that it may be fun to have a genre day for these kinds of pieces! BQ also suggested why not have it be the anniversary of the Woodstock Festival?
Examples of the kinds of music we'd req this day would be the likes of the Oceans 11, 12, 13 SST's, Get Carter, Bullit, Enter the Dragon, Austin Powers, Dirty Harry, several things from the James Bond scores even, & so on.
It could definitely be a groovy fun time! Perfect for our imaginary chase scenes & chat-sploitation musings.

Hey TDC, pretty good post but you may want to quickly review all the theme day criteria that JERIC posted here. Specifically, you may want to edit you title to say "Theme Day: Psychidelic Groovy Day" so people will realize what the post is about before they click on it  .
Looks like a pretty good idea, do you think that it is a broad enough theme that there will be enough to choose from?

Nate - yep yep! already fixed.
As for content - Yeah I think so... it may be a bit tough considering the "artist already in queue" hurdle to work around, but perhaps people can point out other scores that usually get overlooked that fits this genre!
Spoiler: er... It may not be in the library anymore, but I also seem to recall an adult movie score SST that could potentially fit in...  |
Let's toss some suggests and ideas around, this could just work! |

that is true, BQ. I mean... even some of stuff from Cowboy Beebop to a Video Game SST would work!
Plus just like many of the theme days, perhaps we'll get to dust off and discover some new things for ourselves. & that's always fun! |

If this is what you mean... please have "Groovy Day" on EFM... and not on SST,

Hey TDC and all! I would certainly go for that - me being a psych-o-delic and groovy kinda gal! I was wondering from reading this 1) whether your wish will be granted and 2) what day will we be doing it on? Since the playlist is limited because of the problems with SAM, we should probably hold off until we have a full library to choose from!

Yeah, the whole SAM issue really took this one out back and shot it didnt it?
I guess we should bounce it around... I dont think folks would be keen on doing it every month (like... random track day is the first thursday of every month) but who knows...
I do hope this wish gets fulfilled.
