Two great Scores, one by Barry (The Black Hole,) the other by Goldsmith (Capricorn One). Both have probably been posted for vote before, but a new post once in a while to remind those in charge here doesn't hurt.

Jim, please take a moment to look over the Request Netiquette and fix your post.
Also, I wouldn't combine two requests into one thread. But, without any information it makes it tough for anyone to really decide if either is a worthy or feasible addition.
Best I know, Black Hole is now only available as a download via iTunes, but would have to do more research. Capricorn One is now OOP from Intrada and generally expensive. |

hmmm i have both of these on LP naturally. Very good scores. Black Hole particularly.
I will say that I don't remember much about Capricorn One but I do remember the main theme was excellent! I bought the album just for that.
I'm vaguely thinking there's an import of Capricorn One, maybe combined with something else. |

Well here is the listing for Capricorn One at Soundtrack Collector. Best I can tell there was a release in 1993 with two scores combined. I worry about the sound quality on that one plus it appears to have less score than the more recent and full release of Capricorn One from Intrada. The unfortunate thing is that the Intrada release was limited to 3,000 copies and has already sold out. Due to this release being sold out it generally goes for a decent sum of money, especially since it is a Goldsmith. I think this CD would be the one for SST to get, but it would seem that it would be more feasible for someone to donate the album.
In regards to the Black Hole, as I mentioned previously I believe that it is only available as an iTunes download. It has been released as an LP several times as shown in this Soundtrack Collector listing but it has never been released on CD. I believe the article I read regarding Black Hole a couple of months back stated that it would only be available as an iTunes download and there are no plans to ever release it on CD. This would have to be a decision for JERIC, but at this point iTunes is the only option for this score. |

Voted "yes" because:
1) it's always interesting to be intoduced to any J. Barry music
2) I'm capricorn myself _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Please add the Black Hole from iTunes after checking up on broadcast issues.
Not too keen on SST paying for Capricorn One (Intrada) due to the sound quality and high cost. Better to invest in some other classic scores to build up the library. |

I hope that these scores are in the process of being added... (Purchase by iTunes, with a receipt, should be good enough) _________________ 03 Feb 10 - 18:21:14 > taryn: LD Yes mooooood music Cool |
